i could say "drew goddard and peter watts both produce in the reader/viewer a creeping dread that some of the 'people' around them might be mindless automatons with no understanding of the depths of human experience" but i liked when ryan gosling did his Nice Guys scream so its good actually

personally the goofiness bothered me less than the hard turn towards sentimentality towards the end, but my favourite hard sci fi first contact story is Blindsight so they probably shouldnt make movies for my tastes specifically,

ultimately coming out of the theatre i was able to have an argument with my friends about which bit was more or less scientifically plausible and isn't that what cinema is all about really......

the reference would've been clearer if they gave it wooden furniture but i imagine they just figured the existing MSG90 they have in the game already for other characters would be good enough. maybe if they gave it a scope by default? i haven't played R6 in a while though idk how attachments work

MGS1's PSG1

MGS1's PSG1

not sure if anyone actually cleared this up for you in the remaining two hours of the youtube upload, but the "PMR90A2" Snake can equip which you were curious about is an MSG90, which, like the PSG1 from Metal Gear Solid, is a semi-automatic precision variant of H&K's G3 rifle

naming your piece that lets every member of the ensemble show off a highly skilled technical performance after the "this shit ain't nothing to me man" videos is pretty good!

when i hear the word "culture" i release the spring catch on my serpa holster, launching my glock into my hand with trigger finger already squeezing, negligently discharging myself in the femoral artery and massively hemorrhaging

tom francis' Tactical Breach Wizards lets you take back as much of the turn as you want, mainly to allow experimentation but this is a neat curb-cut

i do think sometimes that "streamer mode", as well as hiding sensitive information during multiplayer and muting any contentID-able songs, should force the player to actually type out sentences like "I can press R to reload, and I should do it when I am low on ammo" etc etc

to be totally fair, Metal Garden (e.g.) was a very toaster-friendly UE5 game, because the solo dev braved the frozen wastelands of "UE5's not very well-signposted documentation" in order to find all of the "make the game optimised" boxes to tick

i think receiver 2 does its specific thing extremely well

hmm okay. revshare, grenades will be one out of ~20 weapons in the game i think. but they're obviously more substantial than "another pistol firing a special calibre"... BUT i also have another finnicky mechanical idea for them that will interact with this one in an interesting way... carry the 1...

thinking of implementing this in my dinky little godot FPS project where i've already implemented a "there are way too many buttons to reload a gun" system like in Receiver or Beyond Citadel. should i put you in the special thanks if i do it
