The constant battle of I want to sit in the sun on my day off but I also want to spend too much time in front of my computer 🙃

Three months ago I ditched Microsoft and installed Linux Mint on my main desktop and it has now spiralled out of control into a whole special interest. I am now breaking down old broken tech to salvage parts to build a custom laptop out of scraps. What have I become?

Not me learning how to start and maintain a server from an old laptop specifically so my sister and I can play Hytale together.

I've started gifting a copy of my favorite photos to other households and so far it's been a good work around for now

I got a free MacBook pro from 2010 from a coworker waiting to recycle it and I put my old 250g SSD in it with Linux mint already installed and honestly it was so easy. Now I have a new (to me) laptop that boots up in seconds and can handle some easy writing web browsing and fiddling around

This is my first year in about 5 time got away from me and I forgot to request a day of off work :(
I'm just gonna light a candle and then blow it out when I get home, it's all I'll have time for

I went around asking all my coworkers if they had an old laptop that I could have and one of my coworkers had three laptops in their car waiting to be recycled.
One was a MacBook pro 8 from 2011 and I hit the jack pot

Not me fighting for my life trying to figure out why my hard drive is out of space just to learn I was on the wrong drive THE WHOLE TIME. I'm so mad at myself

Have you tried the OneDrive website? It could be there. Imma be honest I just installed Linux mint on my PC two days ago bc I was so sick of Microsoft and all the bloatware, OneDrive bs and copilot

I'm convinced OneDrive is just data scraping at this point bc how am I gonna uninstall the program and then bam two updates later it's back again asking me to use it. I have a personal one sided beef with the devs on onedrive

I wish more people were open to being wrong... I was using ai less than a year ago and once I had people explain every issue they had w/ it I changed my opinion bc that's what happens when you learn more... You change.

I should note my most important files are safely tucked away offline on a USB.

I'm having a great time fiddling with my PC doing a dual boot of Linux/win11

However I just had to put OneDrive back on my PC(just in case I screw something up and need to recover) and tell me how they just added a bunch of previously deleted files telling me I needed to upgrade my storage.

I spent an entire day yesterday figuring out how to dual boot Linux and Windows on my PC and now that I have idk what to do with it. I just wanted to play around with it..

I've made a point to only listen to female vocals on my way to work, to help pump me up and my wrapped really shows.

It's just me and my spouse this year and I asked for green bean casserole and he said no 😭 it's fine tho

How is it always something??? My car broke down at least 6 times this past year... Traded it in for a newer more reliable one and now my spouse's car has been in the shop almost once a month since then.

I'm learning German and honestly why am I having so much fun to want to do it all the time?? It's been less than a week and I don't think I'm actually pronouncing anything correctly but I've never been able to learn another language before

I even made a new account so to them it looks like my 20 year account has been abandoned.
I'm already doing what I can... I'm not going to take away my most favorite comfort when I'm already cutting out my favorite foods, events etc.

To cope with the world burning I've started writing a post apocalyptic story where I am the MC and honestly it's been pretty fun
