Basically Its like yea we cant force you to put the optimized avi on, but nobody can see you now plus all ur friends put in the effort and are looking at ur 200mb texture memory weird now
A lot of this is more of a cultural push. People *can* technically do nothing but if you really want to participate youll optimize. A reaction that seems to already be working with the amount of people already optimizing in advance as well as how well shelters test of the feature seemed to work.
The biggest difference is that youll be able to fully show more avatars and rely less on safety settings now that both users and avatar creators are more actively being pushed to be optimized.
If im correct youll still be able to join the instance and on *your* end, client side, youll still be wearing your very poor avi but it wont load for anyone else instead just showing your fallback/impostor.
