i really love calatheas, visually they're my fav genus, but holy moly people weren't kidding about how high maintenance some calatheas are
i haven't had any issues with my maranta tho, that dude's awesome and won't stop flowering >:)

spider mites update: i'm winning but maaaannnn are spider mites annoying. some are pest free but some (mostly my calatheas) it's an eternal struggle. i'm gonna repot all my calatheas this weekend so hopefully that'll help a lot with it

i think it fails to understand that people will always make electronics if they want electronics. i think people will always want to own their electronics, you can't pawn power off to a subscription like you can with software and entertainment

there's some sort of growing thought in the ai space too that, with a vast amount of data and power far exceeding consumer electronics, ai can do anything. so you take away consumer electronics, replace them with AI data centers and a subscription to access it
