Cycling in Graz (“Austria’s cycling capital") is general good. Infrastructure is not up to Dutch standards, but here’s my top 5 things other cities could do.
Number 5: make roads one way, except for cycling.

Pedestrians can injure pedestrians.
Almost all pedal cycles can go at more than 25kph. E-bikes are pedal cycles nevertheless.

Perfect classifications.
Emotorbikes in one class, pedal cycles in another. This isn’t difficult. There are many explanations online.

Cities with cycling infrastructure all have emergency vehicles.
Cycling infrastructure does not exclude the disabled.
This disinformation is unhelpful. Please stop.

By a minority, yes. Change is hard. Change to your privilege harder still.

You can, but on an e-bike the assistance cuts off at 25kh. You’re confusing e-bikes with e-motorbikes. A lot of people seem to do so.

2 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

Because emotorbikes are classified as emotorbikes and pedal assist cycles are classified as e-bikes.

I’m not sure what post you replied to as I blocked them. Seems like that would be a good plan. The old place has enough of that nonsense.

Utrecht is your model, then. Not every street will have a cycle lane and we can make some of the narrow streets cycle streets. All cycling cities have emergency vehicles. One of the challenges is imagining the right solution. There’s a model out there.

It will take years. Probably decades. That’s why we need to continue the pressure. Not doing so, will mean it won’t happen.

I cant claim the credit, but I have complained to the council about cars being parked on the cycleway along the A194 or tesco on south Shields several times over the kast year.
Parking along there has now been banned and its a clearway.
Well done South Tyneside Council 👏👏

Choose Choice.

Don't wake up in 6 months to learn that the proposal to give people genuine transport choice along this North Manchester corridor has cancelled in favour of car-choked roads and unreliable bus times.

“Changing a city is complicated, because even the most progressive people don’t want to alter their habits. To succeed, you have to have a strategy, be determined and, yes, accept being unpopular.”

Funding has to come from elsewhere, and any infrastructure improvements gets delivered by BCC.
There is progress, though. The new Langley development will have separated cycling infrastructure throughout, and there's a group looking at how to route to existing areas and on the to town centre.

There’s broad areas of spend and the results of the consultation. It would not have been possible to identify specific projects in the time. We now need to make sure we spend the money on worthwhile projects. Active travel was a clear priority in the consultation.

China’s high-speed rail is the largest and most intensely used system on the planet; boasting over 50,000 km of track linking 97% of cities above 500,000 people at speeds of 350 km/h.

Today’s proof: comfortably gliding from Shenzhen to Xiamen, a distance of nearly 600 km, in just under three hours.
