The words 'DEEP IN THE HEART OF ENGLAND / LIVES A LEGEND' appear over forest scenery.
Here is an absolutely ridiculous piece of writing about the title sequence to the BBC's 2006-09 Robin Hood series. cwickham.blogspot.com/2026/04/in-h...
Is there a decent write up anywhere online about ITV’s What’s Up Doc? I gather there was quite the story to tell about the later years…
Great piece, as always. I remember the original run very well. I’m glad it has found a new lease of life.
Still yet to find out if the copies sold in Woolworths were actually edited to hide a certain line…
Hello by the way…. How are you all.
They’re showing the Liverpool match in the pub I’m in, in London. There was a time where that would mean no matter what, nobody in the pub would be backing them. How times change… 😒
I agree. Might actually stop some of the annoying behaviour that has creeped into sone cinemagoers in recent years. It probably won’t, but we can always hope.

Saw this recently on instagram and not sure how true it is, but I thought I would bring it to you…
Although I don’t watch TMS, I know what you mean. Same with STV Player. I’m loving them having Brookside on there and how it’s doing so well for them, but the reduced frame rate ruins the impact of some of the camera work/direction. surely it’s not as hard to implement now as it was 10 years ago?
You know you’re a geek when your partner shows you the hotel room she is staying in for a work event and the first thing you notice is that it is a pretty good mimic of Alan’s room in series 1 of I’m Alan Partridge.
Sometimes you need to meet your heros. They don’t always disappoint.
Derek Martin. Met him very briefly. Lovely man. Said something to me that I’ve never told anyone… and now I never will. I hope he would approve.
Watching the new Christmas Would I Lie To You… #AlreadyDated #CancelledGuest #whoops
Some things never change, I see…
@dirtyfeed.org Apologies if you’ve already been sent this or found it yourself, but at 4:14 in this video is a curious pre-launch trailer for Drop The Dead Donkey… youtu.be/Dhte3MP5kQU?...
Yeah, I did wonder, or the spool slipped or something.
“At least, not until I’m at Sun Hill and well out of this mess…”
Blimey, never realised that! Hanging my head in shame… I think initially in 1998, they tinkered with the break bumper, as it was initially static, before becoming a version of the form-up from the opening titles, though I think the static one was kept for the odd dramatic/sombre transition.
Other titles highlights include Sgt Cryer saying “I don’t give a toss” and Acting Superintendent Conway bursting through the doors on the beat of the music.
Always amused that the 1988 version lasted as long as it did (with a couple of changed shots), considering by the time it bowed out, it was using shots from the previous Sun Hill Station and featured the 1985 opening with an SD1 area car, which had all long been replaced in the show by then!
@dirtyfeed.org Random question: I’ve been re-reading various DF articles on my night shifts and wondered if in your research, you have discovered if the tape damage in The Young Ones: “Flood” (when Vyv pins Rick to the door) has always been present since 1st TX. Any ideas?
An advert for a child's toy: Baby Spud Spud. A doll is sat in a plat of mashed potato with mash coming out of its mouth, eyes, ears and nose. A speech bubble from the doll's mouth says 'Mummy! Fill her up and watch her spud! ££22.99. Mash sachets available in three exciting flavours! Plain Mustard Sausage and. You can depen don NEWBYS"
People who were forced to listen to Beacon Radio in public places in the 90s, that’s who.
If you’re still using this platform, please message me when you can, sir!
@dirtyfeed.org Currently watching Inspector Morse for the first time proper whilst on night shifts and this interesting brand of Lager cropped up in the dying seconds of Series 5’s “Fat Chance”…
