You've been warned...

The journey has been rocky so far, but I think it can only get better from here. Happy holidays to everyone!

Thanks for your patience, and expecting so little of me for as much support (even as small an audience you are) give in return. I can't tell you when the game will actually come out, but I can assure you - as long as I don't go crazy🥴- that the game will come out.

Even if it has been exhausting, and the final product doesn't end up landing with everyone in the way I wanted, I don't think I could do it any other way. For as much as it just seems like a silly kid's game for many, I think it holds something special - at least for me.

And that's when my investigation began. A hunt that has been creeping over me for months longer than I can count, trying to both recollect my thoughts and as many of the original assets, concepts and code I've been able to gather from what I actually remember of the game.

Of course, this could've just been my terrible memory causing me to forget or mispercieve certain things - but, the colors of the main cast? The order of stages? Hell, the ending of the game? I knew I had to look further - I wasn't happy enough with what I found.

So, when I did actually find an early, unpolished build of the game just looming around out there, like a shark waiting for its prey... I was shocked to find out that it was - barely - anything like how I remembered it. It's like if the game had grown with me over the years.

And yet, I remembered the experience vividly. I knew of lost origins to images, videos - even full movies - yet I couldn't shake off the feeling that the world itself was trying to hide the game from me. Weird, I know, but that's what hyperfixations do to ya.

A game that, for some reason, seemed to have completely dissapeared from the face of the earth by the time I was old enough to get nostalgia from it. For as long as I looked, I never found anything aside from some off-hand mentions of the game in loose forums and threads gone by.

Although we didn't start with the intentions of a serious from the ground-up remake, the original Bink 8 has always had a soft spot in my heart, a game I used to love even for its many flaws and age even past the fact I was a kid - and I wanted that experience to live on today.

What a year, ain't that right? (at this point, this project'll last to live up to its namesake...🤭) But the passion to keep going is strong as ever, and the learning-as-it-goes approach is starting to bloom. We've set the blueprints on the table, now we put our minds into it.🧵
