I guess he means he hasn't got the DNO connection notification letter you need before you get paid to export. It still exports though, you just do it for free.

It's the standard approach now (this is not a defence), nations court and trade with China and Israel both of which have or are performing genocides, the UK government has sent the RAF to defend the UAE from Iranian missiles. Iran's own crimes against humanity are condemned but most are not.

I wonder where the new hate party ISP got the money for that ad... I suspect Harry Potter paid for it. I subscribe to the National at the moment, reconsidering my position on that now.

I don't feel gung ho for a referendum on those numbers. Losing a second referendum would be game over for a long time.

*Scottish parliament elections*

Do you believe that if, somehow, there was an another referendum soon that there is a majority for independence there? The polls tend to put support high to mid forties and that is consistent with the SNP/Green support for the Scottish parliament. I don't think a Yes win is better than 50/50.

I agree but *everyone* knew Peter was a corrupt, utterly self-absorbed lying weasel 20 years ago. So why were all the lads attending his mates’ secret briefings and publishing their shock revelations, why were they quoting him as a Labour Insider, interviewing him, having him on the radio as a guest

Yeah, it's not great. Gets there eventually.

Migrants are making false domestic abuse allegations to stay in the UK, BBC investigation finds In the third part of an undercover investigation, the BBC reveals how rules aimed at protecting abuse victims are being exploited.

It’s genuinely staggering how little substance there is to today’s instalment of the BBC’s attempt to create a national crisis out of a few unproven allegations of immigration fraud 1/

What’s annoying me here is that it is clearly looking down on and contemptuous of people who say they live in an increasingly cruel country with horrible politics, that is being led into a bleak future by bad people who act with impunity, as if this is obviously wrong. But it is not wrong, is it?

Oh the poor soldiers. It's tough illegally invading other people's countries in hot weather.

Alternatively adopt the US system where you pay UK tax wherever you choose to plant your fat rich backside so long as you remain a UK national.

While this might well be true, I think the people suffering under a theocratic dictatorship, getting sanctioned and intermittently bombed by the bigger military in the world instructed by a fat orange narcissist along with the most vicious military run by a bigoted fascist are probably worse off.

The US is more likely to nuke London, if for no other reason than they have nukes and Iran never has, although Trump has given Iran enormous motivation to develop (or buy) the capability now and given other nations the motivation to sell it to them.

Our Father Who art in heaven,
Donald be thy Name.
Thy madness come,
Thy Will be done,
In Iran & not in heaven.
Give us this day your daily dread.
And forgive us our trespasses
As you trespass against us.
And lead us not into Epstein,
But deliver us lots of evil.
Amen.🙏🏻

Hungary has a "fiendishly complicated voting system" that is exactly the same as the one used for the Scottish parliament, the Senedd used to use it too but they have just adopted a more proportional system.

Legislation that has been scrutinised is better than legislation Starmer and his cronies pulled out of their backsides. So, while I agree with the direction of travel I think the method is important.

A reason to prevent future abuses, not make it common practice.

It's idiotic to bypass democratic process. Labour does it now and Reform can do it later, they should make it harder to be anti-democratic not provide precedent. It's hard to escape the conclusion that Labour isn't just right wing itself but it wants to enable actual future wannabe fascists.

I muted "are you yes yet". It's just too annoying. I always hear it in the voice of Rolf Harris (you have to be of a certain age to get the reference). I hate it. Get a better slogan.

Cue some major aneurysms in the newspapers about the right to buy, the landlord class will not be happy. As far as they're concerned it's great if it's council houses but their private 'investment' property? Oh boy.

That would be a highly misleading headline even if the sample size was better and it's extremely bad when it's both a small sample and a self selecting one.

The ships aren't exactly pouring through the Strait of Hormuz today...

1 week ago 0 0 0 0

Iran's leverage against the US (and by proxy Israel) lies entirely on its control over the Strait of Hormuz. They just aren't going to give that up without a treaty laying out some pretty big guarantees. Illegal or not that is just the realpolitik that the US and Israeli attacks have created.
