But was it worth it?

Thank you so much! I’m so glad to share them.
Digital illustration of a brown bat flying with wings up. The wings are also cherry blossom branches with petals drifting from them.
Spring, for #repostyourart
Thank you!
Yup! They’re a mix of porcelain and stoneware, fired in a wood burning kiln. So all of the glaze on them is just melted wood ash from the firing.
Thank you!
Haha, I get you. Autocorrect is just unsuited to Finish!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Dang! Well, I appreciate the thought!
Thank you so much!
Awesome! Thank you so much!
I had never heard of this! It’s proving to be some fascinating Wikipedia reading!
I do not, but the sculptures are really lovely!
Thank you, Melissa!
A view of a two part sculpture out of wood fired ceramic. It’s two beasts tucked against each other but facing out. The colors are earth tones, with white porcelain horns. It’s about 2ft long.
If you’re in Seattle, my solo show will be opening this Thursday night from 5-8pm!
Come say hi at the J Rinehart Gallery in pioneer square.
It isn’t a perfect job but I did the best I could!. I originally planed to do it on both sides to be reversible but this was so fiddly and tedious that I just can’t do it twice. 🤪 #pottery
They’re perfect!
Surform = what I call that little rasp tool in the background. I think it’s the brand name of one variety.
Surform tools are legit the most fun way to sculpt.
Likewise!
I’d been following you for ages, and was delighted to find you on Bluesky.
You really capture the three dimensional nature of them. I can’t wait to see the finished piece.
These are looking so good! I’ve been sharing the first nudi picture with offline scuba friends.
Your cats are absurd.

That seems very reasonable to me!
I’ve been so productive this week at everything except starting sculptures. It’s honestly been great!
Sarah holds up a shark tooth resting on her middle finger
I went to do my laundry and a shark tooth fell out. I have no recollection of so much as *touching* a shark for at least a year what is the MEANING of this??
My studio. It’s a converted one car garage with two windows added. There’s a work bench in front of the window. Shelves on the left, a sink just out of the picture on the left, and a rolly chair
Old maquettes on a windowsill.
A wide spread of ceramic tools. 10ish ribbon style loop tools, a piece of old curtain rod, 10-12 crappy brushes, a couple giant brushes, sand paper, 6 bladed tools, 4 scoring tools, 3 rubber smoothing tools, 7 wooded smoothing tools, 5 surforms, 7 metal ribs, two serrated, and 3 rubber ribs
The tools I actually use. Two bladed tools, a scoring tool, 3 smoothing tools, a particular crappy brush, a surform blade, two ribs, and all the sandpaper
I need to start new sculptures, but instead I deep cleaned my studio and organized my tools. Behold!
That’s really true. Partners in art, partners in mental health, too.
