At least Fromsoft games are generally still a full enjoyable experience without having to do every quest or find any meta builds. The bones are very good and simple, and it all revolves around the player learning to be good at movement and attacking, you don’t need anything else.

As a game, community, and shared experience, Tetris has aged far far better than Myst ever did and there’s a good reason for that. Having to buy a codex to decipher a game isnt universally enjoyable. Certainly interesting for some, but once it’s deciphered, it’s done and over, and it feels like work

This is why I adore Hollow Knight so much. There are some janky busted meta charm combos, but none of them are actually as effective as just being really quick and reliable with jumping and swinging your sword.

You only need two buttons to beat the whole game once you learn them well.

The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

Genuinely, it’s the way Animal Crossing chose to strip the villagers their right to be mad at their mayor and friend if they’re rude or still strangers.

Give living things the panache of living. It ain’t all rosebuds and peach pie, and it’s boring without the spice.

As someone who’s been looking sideways at cave story in my library for honestly 13 years, without ever touching it, this makes me feel better :)

Australia has iconic films; The Castle, The Dish, Malcolm, Priscilla, Mad Max, and all of those are from 30-40 years ago.

It feels so very very dry over here, and almost all our tv output feels identical; story beats, writing, character spreads all feel like clones.

On top of reasons of role deconstruction and bodily autonomy, this is one reason why it's so important to many people in power to eradicate trans folk.

If you're secure with yourself, feeling good BEING yourself, they can't tell you you're broken and then sell you a "fix"

Check. Your. Sources. More now than ever. And even more so in the future. Summaries are not searches. AI output is so easily shaped and manipulated.

In a delightful progression of technology, misinformation can hit the broad web within mere seconds of a tongue in cheek joke, misrepresented as objective fact to the masses! What wonder! What a way to spend trillions of dollars!

Fern Gully is one of those 'from a better lifetime' movies where we were on a solidly good trajectory, environment wise. A lot of hopeful news coming out

The thought of it appearing now in TYOOL 2026 because we're just remaking shit live action feels like watching someone put on a rotting skin suit

'LLMs as a disability aid for ADHD' just goes to show how many critical misunderstandings people have about ADHD.

Like literally the best coping strategy for ADHD is mindfulness. Writing your OWN notes. Keeping your OWN lists. Finding strategies that help YOU remember things. YOU, not a chatbot.

Worse, your disability fucking loves novelty. LOVES that shit. Can't get enough of it. And what is an LLM but an endless novelty button.

You have hypnotized yourself by jingling keys in front of your own face, and you are calling it therapy.

A thought on men calling all-women spaces toxic all the time;

Men step into these spaces, and are forced to take on with a fraction of the emotional resilience that women have had forced on them their entire lives.

Women deal with their emotions, confront and move on.

Men can't keep up.
