Imagine there are two mechanics in your town.
At one, the dude howls incoherently while letting a bunch of rhesus monkeys bang on your car with rocks.
The other mechanic is a normal guy, who actually knows how to fix cars.
Your car breaks, one of these guys will get it working faster.

The interests of the bourgeoisie demand the embellishment of capitalism and the concealment of the gulf that divides the classes. The interests of the proletariat demand the exposure of capitalism and of the exploitation of wage-labour
At a loss today. A job I finally thought was a slam dunk, fell within my skill set, had recommendations, two good interviews, and was local, said thanks anyway. Do I start a Go Fund Me? Would a Patreon to follow a potential Hypercard game be worth it? Fully demoralized and running on borrowed time.
“Take a moment to think before you dive in. That’s the best advice for Google Photos users, as the company confirms its latest update can scan all your photos to “use actual images of you and your loved ones” in AI image generation.”

So if someone opts in, and has taken photos of friends, relatives, kids, even strangers, they’re “giving permission” on behalf of all those people. So lots of people have no say in this.
The whole “opt in” thing was always a charade but it’s approaching terminal nonsense at this point.
Keep this in mind next time Dreher opines on welfare, the state, and minorities.
So much of our language reflects
the common “car first” bias around our streets, & we should never forget that much of that language was the result of deliberate campaigns to specifically re-write our perspective of streets as “for cars only.” This is one of the more subtle, but important, examples.
The problem is we're still listening to them and keeping them in charge of all this money and technology after an infinitely long list of predictable failures and a truly negiable amount of successes, all of which have led to horrible things for society. Capitalism is wasting both our lives & time.
ok, tho im shaking with anxiety and guilt before i even post this, i know i can't do it alone, and i owe it to myself to try. im sure it will take a while, but i've never needed something as bad as i need this. so here is my fundraiser for vaginoplasty. please share if you can

horseshoe theory is real. leftists almost got kat abughazaleh elected into congress and now it comes out that her boyfriend owns infowars…
Man, when you compare the bravery of every day Minnesotans to the overpaid cops it’s astounding
i think it goes under-analyzed the extent to which tech bros and finance bros effectively merged around the start of the 2020s
and, as a result, a lot of the tech industry has muscled out actual tech—or even technical knowledge—in favor of wall street douches, but with silicon valley flavoring
I write code, but I do it because it helps make life easier for people. I’m tired of seeing tech be used to make things categorically worse, to take jobs away, to collect data about people and sell it, to force people to do things they don’t want. So yeah, all for the backlash.
The currently escalating tech backlash must be put in the context of:
“people have been listening to the most insufferable techbros in the world gleefully threaten everyone else with mass unemployment for over 6 years, and they’re sick of their shit”
it’s a great day for transphobes to eat shit
crude drawing of a smiling anthrpomorphic dog with a word bubble reading i want them to pay for what they've done

See this is the sort of thing I used to tell myself other people were thinking about me until they told me otherwise and I did therapy about it.
This guy is a physical manifestation of negative self-talk.
🤞we all get what we need sooner rather than later
And I would actually prefer my pussy to be a little less tight tbh. Could stand to be juicer tho
The whole web is built on a primary grace: that the people visiting you are trustworthy. It costs a little something for me to serve my webpage to everyone who goes there. When the number of scrapers outnumbers the number of humans by an order of magnitude, this grace is fragile.
This article is weird. France isn't switching to Linux because Windows is bad - it's switching because Microsoft is a US company, US companies fall under US law, and thus simply cannot be trusted with EU data. Windows can't "solve" this. There's no "fix" here.

A sketchy comic. Emma wears a ball cap that reads “LESBIAN.” She says, “honestly, it doesn’t always fit the best, but it has SO MUCH sentimental value…” She scowls, her teeth and fingers looking sharper than before, “and I will BITE anyone who tries to take it off me.”
a quick comic about “lesbian”
The fact that every major police union endorsed Donald Trump is under appreciated in our political discourse.
on my commute home i saw the aftermath of a car crashing into an ebiker. very clearly the car turned into the bike and the rider was likely maimed or killed. it makes me sick to my stomach that after 100 years of this shit society still treats daily loss of life like the cost of doing business.
NEW: The Union Bug is back! On this week's episode, I spoke with @dgorganize.bsky.social about his forthcoming book, "Unions of Our Own: 8 Building Blocks to Change Work...and the World."
It's a damn good conversation and I hope you'll check it out. Daniel's book is out April 28th.
if you can play Mother 3, you should, it's a perfect game about how nostalgia turns you into a monster, and the corrosive power of capitalism
(ideally play it on something precise enough to make the rhythm game battle system timings work)
