I didn’t say no one wanted to vote for her. I said she sucks.

Trump won. Does winning an election mean you don’t suck?
No, wasn’t the entire ward. But you’d understand that if you knew how caucuses are run.
How many people were at your caucus?
According to Robert’s Rules of Order, I think you are now the producer of that upcoming season by unanimous consent.
Our ward went 15 uncommitted to 3 for Amy with a small number of people who didn’t vote.
Amy ain’t moving the needle quite yet.
My part of Minneapolis is represented by one of the most conservative council members in the city. It’s not some lefty stronghold you weirdo. Amy just sucks.
Went to my local DFL caucus tonight in Minneapolis. They took an unofficial straw poll for the governor race.
Klobuchar 3
Uncommitted 15
Glad we’re getting handed a candidate that really rallies the party.
Roth is always well worth reading, but this is one of the Roth essays where you think to yourself, yeah, people trying to understand this era are gonna be reading this 40 years from now
friendly reminder
The things you believed were right yesterday are still right. They'll be right if they put you in jail. They'll be right if they shoot you. They'll still be right when these people are dead and dusted and gone.
which they will be
I love my two blackout drunk Minnesota sons
This is strong confirmation for my AJAB theory.
Jesus Christ, try having an ounce of reading comprehension. It was a joke. It’s why they said “send next door post” at the end.
Writing a movie in the 80s/90s was so easy. It was just MadLibs.
(Character) from (rich upper middle class city suburb) experiences (life challenge). Hijinks ensue. They meet (character of opposite sex) who helps them. They become a better person and fall in love with (character of opposite sex).
Dude has “I read more than I post” in his bio but decided defending ICE doing a little stunt for the cameras was the perfect time to jump in to the conversation.
Some people are just dumb as bricks.
I think @racketmn.com described this best.
“We basically now have a socialist city council”
Hell yeah, sounds dope.
This is legitimately wild.
Feel like I haven’t heard as much about gambling from those I talk to compared to even a few years ago, and fascinating to see data to back up that anecdotal evidence.
The best genre of sports press release is upper management saying "We failed, and I take full responsibility for that" but then that person is still employed and it turns out they're announcing firing someone else.
It's just a beautiful encapsulation of where the Twins are at as an organization.
The media allowing Trump plausible deniability on Project 2025 during the campaign is right up there with Iraq War stenography in craven, lazy disgracefulness
Counterpoint: It’s objectively funny that I could pay $500 to run for mayor for the sole purpose of being invited to this event, where I could just talk about how awful Jacob is and force him to sit there and listen to me.
It is possible to hold both of these things true at the same time:
1) political violence is never an appropriate choice in a civilized society
2) Charlie Kirk’s dream is to create exactly the kind of society he currently lives in, as spoken from his own mouth
All within a mile or two of home.
You cannot convince me there’s a better area in Minneapolis than Northeast (specifically the neighborhoods in the SW part of it: St Anthony East/West, Sheridan, Logan Park, Bottineau, Holland)
Screen shot of a New York Times headline which says “Adams Adviser suspended from campaign after giving cash to reporter”. The sub headline says “a campaign volunteer for Mayer. Eric Adams of New York was suspended after giving a journalist cash in a potato chip bag.” There is a candid photo of the campaign volunteer below the headline.
Eric Adams is just speed running scandal types.
I mean, my god, money in a potato chip bag? That means he’s already to “college football recruiting” in the scandal style playbook. The man is an unstoppable force of nature at this point.
Yeah, but also she is not good at this.
She lost. Badly.
Her high water point in polling was when Biden dropped out and she represented desperately wanted change.
Then she said “I’m not changing anything,” tracked right, and tanked.
Fuck the NR, their reasoning is bad, but broken clocks, etc.
Title: "Republicans want Frey:" followed by a screenshot of a post by Dustin Grage that says, "At this rate every Republican in Minneapolis is going to be voting for Jacob Frey." Below that is text that reads, "In 2024, over 28% of Jacob Frey's donors were Republican donors" next to a graphic of a pie chart where 28% is red. Below that is a thin yellow zig-zag line above a photo of the Minneapolis DFL City Convention with the text over it, "The Minneapolis DFL wnats Omar Fateh" next to a Mpls for the Many logo.
Republican consultant Dustin Grage posted what has long been an open secret: “Every Republican in Minneapolis is going to be voting for Jacob Frey.”
That’s probably why 28% of his donors are Republican donors.
Republicans want Frey, but the Minneapolis DFL wants @omarfatehmn.com.
Looking at resumes for an open creative video position is exhausting.
My new pet peeve is people who try to get too cute with their resume and have sidebars where THEY RATE THEMSELVES FROM 1-100 ON SKILLS. WHY! STOP! I DONT WANT TO KNOW YOUR SELF EVAL "SCORE" ON PREMIERE!
NOT HELPFUL, JUST WEIRD.
the sequence of events from “we need to engage the youth! we need our own joe rogan!” to mamdani’s
rise to “we need to crush mamdani and distance ourselves from him” is really something
I’d say that this is a very revealing comment except what is revealed is very obvious: generative AI is an interesting technology with what will probably prove to be a few useful applications, and it’s being inflated into a trillion dollars year industry because tech has no other good ideas.
And then this shit just came out.
When you’re making over $700k a year, gaining $12k is nothing. It’s a nice vacation, redoing the garage, giving a niece/nephew a car.
When you’re making $23k a year, losing $1600 is “are we paying for food or for the house or for medical bills” territory.
