CHRIS WRIGHT: Energy prices are still well lower than they were in middle of the Biden adminis--
CANTWELL: I want to stop you right there. There is nobody in the Northwest who thinks that. Not when they wake up & airline flights are being canceled because of high fuel costs. No one thinks it's okay

Ah, so the SPLC violated the How Dare You Be Mean To Nazis Law
This is genuinely one of the foundational copes of the modern conservative movement, a stabbed-in-the-back narrative about why the US lost Vietnam
Like... no. Their job, if they win in November, is to spend the next two years making Donald Trump's life a living hell and prevent him from making things worse for the rest of the time he's in office. They are there to gum up the works.
IT’S ELECTION DAY 📢
Virginia, stop Trump’s power grab, vote YES.
#VoteYesVirginiaToday
“He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.”
We need a labeler here that lets everyone know.
ACTUALLY WENT TO THE 2026 WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS DINNER
He was a fantastic prez I miss him so much
The death of History
Economics can either enable the slide toward fascism, or defend affordability, dignity, and democracy.
I wrote ANTI-FASCIST ECONOMICS with my baby by my side—a constant reminder that the future should be livable for all.
Out in October with Random House.
At this point court-packing isn't enough. We need to jail and disbar some SCOTUS justices.
Read a post just yesterday of an SUV driver nearly hitting a cyclist they couldn’t see. The SUV driver got mad at the cyclist after they told the driver they could have killed the cyclist. People don’t want to take accountability for the multi-thousand pound death machines they drive.
I will always find it confusing that some people think a person riding a $2000 bike to commute is a privileged elitist but the guy in the $80k truck that costs $150 to fill is the working class average joe.
Just read Aline Rousselle's review, in Annales 42.2 (1987), of Foucault History of Sexuality vols 2-3. Quite brilliant, acknowledging MF as philosopher while implicitly offering a devastating critique of MF as historian.
PS Impeach Trump now. Vote GOP out soon. Hold everyone accountable.
“In the past there was a group called ‘Dire Straits.’ It’s a dire strait now, and it is going to have major implications for the global economy. And the longer it goes, the worse it will be for the economic growth and inflation around the world."
one of my conservative-coded opinions is at Roe may be one of those overbroad steps from the Court. We’d have gotten a national law allowing many abortions by now if not for Roe.
Sometimes rewriting the Constitution is required. But the way Alito has used Janus to harm unions and Roberts has blown up the VRA and Obamacare and Chevron with novel doctrines are bridges too far.
The Court should decide limited legal questions.
Right. Heller v DC, where Scalia and Roberts made up a wholly new second amendment, was not just wrongly decided.
The Court did not decide it honestly.
Scalia and Thomas were both taking bribes from pro-gun billionaires. That decision was corrupt and we should not accept it.
Like, I think this is his first major life crisis where delay was not to his benefit. When he owed people money, had scandals, or got pulled into court, delay always favored him.
Even with COVID, which was unpersuadable—pandemics always end eventually, even before hardworking vax scientists
And they're helped so much in this by the dumbass, and in fact his entire coetiere of dumbasses, who have spent their lives confusing perceptions for reality.
Trump bullshits what he wants and expects reality to follow. His whole experience is you just sell something hard enough and it comes true.
The scary thing is that Trump has no idea of how to do this negotiation.
and the boys explores it in insightful ways. A-Train is brought on as a token, and eventually the racism he experiences leads him to antifascism and resistance.
which is really well done.
The Boys is just really well written even when it's kind of spinning its wheels a bit.
especially in terms of character development. it's just always pretty fun to watch homelander and the deep be terrible. and A-Train had one of the few redemption arcs that was actually convincing.
anyway. one thing I really appreciate in the boys is that its fascist dystopia targets all the people you'd think a fascist dystopia would target.
a lot of screen dystopias have this kind of color blind fascism (handmaid's tale for example) and I think that's really fucked up.
The Tech Journalist Banned from Twitter for Criticizing Fascism, Palantir, & the Broligarchy
Palantir published a 22-part manifesto outlining its authoritarian agenda. The masks are off. It's time to purge America of these broligarchs.

Republicans know they are about to lose the House and are trying to give Big Oil its holy grail: legal immunity from any futures actions that would hold the industry responsible for the climate crisis it knowingly caused and is making worse every day.

The reason Trump pressured Republican led states to redraw their election maps without voter approval is because he knows his policies are unpopular. He knows Republicans will lose without map rigging. Virginia can vote YES for fair maps to stop him tomorrow. #VoteYesVirginia
This will never not be right to me.
