I use woods when I’m taking about them in regards to individual areas and people, like “I’m hiking in the woods”, but forest when referring to them in a general sense, i.e forest fires, protect our forests, etc. (born and raised PNW)

I’m watching Maine Cabin Masters. It is a home renovation show but it’s worn down cabins in the woods/lakes of Maine. Not much in the way of “drama”, just a fun group of people working together.
