Did you think that small gene regulatory networks are only capable of very simple dynamics? Guess again! Even very simple networks are capable of a rich dynamics. Check out our brand new review paper: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... @perez-carrasco.bsky.social

This issue could not have been possible without all of the fantastic contributions of all authors and reviewers, and obviously @royalsociety.org #biophysics #FluidDynamics
Our special issue of Phil Trans Roy Soc A on "Biological Fluid Dynamics" Emerging Directions" is officially out now! Originating from discussions at one of our SIG meetings, this special issue has 16 research articles and reviews on all things bioactive! royalsocietypublishing.org/toc/rsta/202...
Thank you to the Warwick Medical School for hosting the "Bridging mechanics and genetics in early development" workshop. Thank you especially for selecting my talk on AC-DC circuits for the "Best Talk" runner up award! There were so many excellent talks and I am honoured to be selected as runner up
Another day, another funky gene regulatory network behaviour! In our latest paper, we show how the mushroom bifurcation can encode an ultra-long biochemical timer. Even more interestingly, extrinsic noise can be used to improve timing precision! 🤯

Re-posts appreciated!
We have an open PhD position w/ Prof Harold Auradou on #microswimmers/#protists in complex media! Students get to spend at least 12 months in Paris, and will receive their PhD from both Exeter and Paris-Saclay!
Apply by 31st Mar.

My first paper in systems biology is in PRE! We investigate how local nearby bifurcations lead to synergies in critical slowing down, specifically the case of mushroom bifurcations in gene regulatory networks!
