Haven’t shot in months, finally got the all clear from the doc after my last surgery so hoping to be back in the studio soon. For now have some highlights.

I have been told I’m a “huge flirt” by my wife, friends, etc. I finally thought to ask what I do that comes off flirty and it boiled down to “you listen when we talk and you ask questions.”

Non-scale victory: I finally fit in this sick fucking coat @gingerdraven.bsky.social got me like three Christmases ago. I had resigned it to being donated to our photo studio as wardrobe, I’m glad I kept forgetting to take it all these years.

Health update: surgery recovery is going nicely. Back to work and a normal daily routine. Doc said I can ease back into physical activities. I am fiending to shoot, don’t care what side of the camera I’m on at this point.

Also, down 120 pounds. Need to add muscle back. Time to join a gym.

Because of the surgeries I went from being a pack mule to being unable to pick up a sock off the floor. There’s a lot going on and I know the worst parts of it are temporary, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t getting to me mentally.

Some days I look in the mirror and see the same 330+ pound guy I’ve always been; other days I don’t recognize the person in the mirror. I still have a belly, and thicc thighs, but I can also see my ribcage and bones I’d never seen sticking out before. 2/3

I’m on my second month long surgery recovery in the last 4 months. In August I started taking mounjaro and making habit changes for diabetes management. I’ve had nothing but time the past few months to be hyper aware of everything my body is doing. 1/3

Haven’t done a shoot since October and I still have about another 5 weeks of recovery time. Trying really hard not to do a hard reset and get a whole new camera for when I come back. The bed rotting boredom is taking me to some weird places.

It’s rough but I’m doing my best to get through it.
