Brand survey? No. Get stuffed with this. I think of Thomas Paine and the Enlightenment.

F*** all of their βlordshipsβ who want to drag us back to living in a dystopian hierarchy like itβs 1763 and Mad George wants us all to get in line and kiss his royal ass. Also like when Black Americans and women were considered property.
Thought for the day: Make America enlightened again.
As in β¦
the Enlightenment,
which is β¦
what we were founded on.
Itβs about progress, liberty and equality, which can be achieved through rationality and empirical evidence.
Thought for the day: In a time of tyranny, defend Crew Earth. π
Nothing left to say
Billions feel this way
.
Because I am absolutely effing tired of their lordships. I am absolutely a daughter of the Enlightenment.
Also, hit me up if you want to talk books.
Or we need to cut them loose. Carve up the country. OK, you get these regions, and everyone who wants to live in the Land of the Lords can go there. Everyone who doesnβt can join us in the United States of Enlightenment. Weβll help you get here as needed.
So it feels like for the nation, as founded upon Enlightenment principles, to persist, we need either stamp out the wannabe lords power and ability to control anything, like really insulate the democracy from that brand or authoritarianism.
Listening to that book, every few minutes, thereβs an example of some policy or position that claims to be about XYZ, but really thatβs a smoke screen. Underneath it is always, always about race and always about the wannabe lords feeling threatened and not wanting to lose power or anything.
Eventually, these conflicting ideologies landed us in the Civil War, where we are today and everything in between.
You can imagine the wannabe lords would want to keep the status quo of slavery and the enlightened would favor increasing equality and human rights. These two ideologies would carry on across generations.
And the Revolution had much to do with taxes and economics but the as a movement Enlightenment contributed the principles upon which the subsequent federal government was formed. Also, Haudenosaunee democracy had an influence.
But another thread in our culture were people who wanted to recreate the British hierarchy of nobility and believed that some were born and chosen by god to lord over others. Those two camps had to form an alliance to defeat the British.
Basically, everything goes back to the country was founded on Enlightenment principles that put us on a path toward progress and a shift to greater equality. One camp in our culture was inspired and driven by that.
Heheheheheh
On a related note, Iβm listening to Democracy Awakening as an audiobook. I studied poli sci and some history (among many other things) and have lately been reading lots of philosophy, civics and U.S. history. I have some thoughts.
Excited about this opportunity to ensure the tens of millions of Americans who watch MS NOW will hear fact-based reporting from journalists who live and work full-time in Oregon and other states.

Y'all there is a woman and a black man circling the moon and NASA's mission control+ science teams are so diverse and people are nerding out about science and exploration this is all a gigantic middle finger to the stupid and hate and grotesque ghouls running our country

One pound of ground beef now costs more on average than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.
Back when I was in a lab: duct tape.
For the unsexy reason of it held my broken chair together when we didnβt have it in the budget to replace it just then.

A Black pilot will in a few days hold the record for the farthest flight from Earth, some quarter of a million miles. And that record is going to last a while. I think future Artemis missions will have a tighter lunar orbit.

View from Artemis II today. Crescent Earth. A view humans haven't captured since 1972.
It's funny seeing Noem and Bondi and Leavitt losing favor and getting ousted in quick succession. Sorry babes, the women-hating Nazi party never actually let you on the team, you were set dressing. You are like a curtain with boobs to them
