Surveillance and control...
In "The Whale" by contemporary artist Sharam Saadat, he turns an everyday thing like a car wash into something worth pausing for and taking in.
But yet the simple elements of water and glass create a new beauty to be found in such a boring task.

A masterclass in cultural alchemy.
Look, we've all been there. It's unavoidable and you'll still find yourself randomly trying to convince yourself that your value isn't tied to the number at the top of your Instagram profile.
Here are a few things that happened this week in fashion that caught our eye...

No Face, No Case: The Many Masks of MF DOOM
The masks he had throughout his career allowed him to separate the man from the myth, shifting the focus away from image and onto the music. DOOM didn't care about visibility, it was about one thing. And the one thing was always the music.

Marcel Walldorf doesnât just remake porcelain dog figurines. He guts them.

The break we'll never get over: Bjork & Goldie
Culturally, their relationship marked a moment. Björkâs art-pop, which had already started bending electronic textures into something intimate and otherworldly, met Goldieâs futuristic drum and bass.

Somewhere along the way, building a creative career started to mean creating a persona. Itâs no longer just about documenting the creative process; itâs about performing it. In todayâs social media and influencer-driven economy, audiences look far beyond a brandâs name or aesthetic. They want the person behind it. The artist becomes the product. The algorithm rewards visuals, lifestyle, and personality just as much as the work itself. That pressure turns every moment of the process into something that needs to look good.
nstead of sitting with the messy, frustrating parts of making something, everything is expected to appear curated and pristine. Even your personal life. At some point, it does just become performative. So the question becomes unavoidable: Can you still succeed as a creative without turning yourself into content?
The truth is, some of the most influential creatives built their worlds without living permanently in front of the camera. Their work started the conversation and it was strong enough to keep it going. Others chose to build quietly from the start, keeping distance between themselves and the work. But sustaining that path requires something undeniable. Either powerful storytelling or work that speaks loudly on its own. That doesnât mean every creative has to become the face of their art. It simply means deciding where the boundary sits. You have to find the line between sharing enough to exist in the ecosystem and protecting the space where the work actually happens.
It feels like a paradox for a creative to be expected to share every moment, thought, and opinion with the world. When youâre deep in the process, the work often requires "ghosting" the people you love for weeks at a time. Disappearing until the vision is finally satisfied.

There's nothing we love more than a Matieres Fecales Paris runway show.
âWatching the Matieres Fecales duo evolve from their early underground beginnings into this label they are today has been more than just another fashion label popping up the blue. It truly has been a visceral experience.
Jonathan Anderson's Dior exceeded expectations...
Let's hear those opinions!

Alexander McQueenâs Fall/Winter 1998
show, Joan, is the kind of show that lives rent free in
your head. Models walked through smoke and scorched
earth in distressed tailoring, ecclesiastical references,
and warrior silhouettes before the runway itself was set
a blaze.
