Bandana design of a lifecycle of a sockeye salmon around the edge. Inside are patterns of salmonberry flowers and salmonberries, in triangles are animals that depend on the salmon roughly during the fish’s lifecycle they are near.
Animals:
Heron
Raccoon
Osprey
Orca
Seal
Brown bear
Wolf
Otter
I don’t think I ever posted the bandana design I did for @waywardretreats.bsky.social last year. There seemed to be a lot of talk about death so I wanted to make a thing that showed the life and death of a Sockeye and the animals that depend on their dramatic lifecycle. Lots depends on death.

An indoor-started cosmo plant blooming a dark red flower. You can see several of its companions next to it in the soil-block tray, one of which looks ready to bloom soon, too.
This Spring has ended up being even busier for me than anticipated. I’m excited to get some of these plant starts in the ground soon!

A drawing of a small house with a leaf for a roof in a meadow. There are dandelions, clover, ribwort plantain and speedwell growing among the grass.
When I put this on tumblr a few years ago, someone complimented me on the accurately drawn plantain (the weed not the banana) and thb I'm still riding that high

Group of three squat lidded maple bowls. this group has "cap" lids I've seen on vintage and reproduction loose leaf tea containers.
Group of three more maple vessels this group all has knobs, one with a unified lid and knob (turned from 1 piece) one with a bocote recessed knob, and one with a redgum knob. These are all "candy dish" or "sewing supply" coded imo. They can hold whatever fits in them though.
Example from the knob group. Maple container with the redgum knob lid, open to show a shallow void (container area) just deep enough to fit some dice.
Shop has been updated with some more lidded vessel experiments as I work on my lathe skills.
Inspired by weird little vessels seen in antique shops.

Four Walnut (primarily) tiny wood bowls perfect for your tiny object needs
Four minuscule maple bowls for your minute items and adornments
Four Tiny vessels (3 lidded bowls and 1 tiny chalice) the chalice is khaya (african mahogany) and the lidded vessels are all walnut
Khaya (African Mahogany) Altar bowl (3.65" x 1.85") I was trying out different woods to turn and African Mahogany (Khaya) isn't listed as vulnerable so its a safer exotic wood to turn. (also doesn't cause me skin/respiratory problems)
Shop has been updated with 12 tiny vessels and a bonus bowl.
The small lidded vessels were all experiments trying out different lid techniques. The tiny brass knobs were turned on the lathe as well.

I have been working on some little animations lately!
Sometimes it's hard for me to scale back, so making some that were just two frames feels like an accomplishment!

A formal photo of a ceramic sculpture. The piece is 20” wide, and features a long suffering large beast being swarmed by four rambunctious small beasts. It’s squishing one to gain some chil.
Different view of the same piece. Two small beasts are climbing over the leg of the large one, yelling at each other.
A close up on the coloration of one of the smaller beasts. All the coloration on both is due to the ash from the woodfiring melting into a natural glaze.
Close up on the noisy two
Presenting the final sculpture!!
It’s hilarious to be able to look back to my first sketch and track the progress of this beast. My instinct is was right. A pain to sculpt, but worth it!
It’s titled “Storyteller”, and will be part of my solo show at J. Rinehart Gallery, opening April 2nd.
