Sifting through cross-site @uslter.bsky.social data, researchers found plots with greater biodiversity were more resistant to extreme climatic events. But the key dimensions of biodiversity that helped them cope in wet years weren’t the same as those for dry years.

Correct. The solicitation was archived last year. Tons of uncertainty here, as everywhere, but we aren't dead yet.
@lizneeley.bsky.social Thanks so much for the concern. Don't write us off yet. Tons of solicitations were archived last year at the same time as LTER and are now coming back. The program is still going.
Hey y'all. Love all the love for the program (we're pretty proud of it too). But the fact that the solicitation is archived does NOT mean that the program is shutting down. We're hanging in there, struggling through the uncertainty with everyone else.
Our April LTER Community Call will feature two active working groups: *Life After Death* looking at the legacy of dead foundation species and *consumer taxonomic and functional diversity and nutrient cycling*

The structure that Jim and others conceived still holds this dedicated, creative, and oft-misunderstood network together.

The LTER Network was built (and continues to be sustained) by a group of people who love working out the beautiful puzzle that is ecosystem functioning. Jim Gosz inspired a generation of ecologists, secured LTER, and built ILTER.
