What was extra annoying about today's email was that it implied people had previously been notified about the breach in June. Bectu members, to best of my knowledge, were not contacted AT ALL at the time - first notification was today. There was only a quietly published article on the Prospect site.
You *should* have received an email already on Friday morning from "Prospect union <hello@mail.prospect.org.uk>" with the subject "Important information about your data". A lot of people probably overlooked or missed it because it appears fairly generic in its subject. tldr, it's pretty bad.
