Everyone is worse off with a reduced NOAA workforce. EVERYONE.
We literally make daily decisions due to expected weather conditions like grabbing an umbrella or securing furniture ahead of strong winds.
And anyone can access that information because it's already covered by taxpayer dollars.
Thanks so much for your interest! FYI the app is NOT available yet. I hope to start an open Testflight beta next week and will post the invite here.
Last week marked the end of the incredibly active and impactful 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.
The season produced 18 named storms, 11 hurricanes, and 5 major hurricanes.

We're excited to expand our social media presence to Bluesky! If you have requests for content...let us know! #okwx #okmesonet
To accompany all those Bluesky science/academia #starterpacks, how about we also share introductions to the literature of our different fields. I present here a handy guide to main types of papers in meteorology (inspired by the amazing @xkcd.com). 🧪
