I have the utmost respect for Senator Kaine and Senator Warner but we do not need “coaching” on redistricting coming from a cuck chair in the corner. How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1

The execs forcing this at McClatchy can go straight to hell.
If this isn't your baseline state of existence you've got no business being in the admin that's going to be inaugurated at 1200 20 Jan 29
Connecting some dots here: the Associated Press offered buyouts to ~120 US journalists this month, and among the reasons is that McClatchy dropped AP in 2024. This is a piece of what McClatchy is doing instead.
The worst Republican ghouls live in NOVA and they are seething right now.
Fred from Scooby-Doo unmasking the bad guy at the end of a mystery, in two frames. First frame: Left side: a tied up man in a white featureless mask with eye holes. The caption over him in impact font reads, "SOMETHING I USED TO LOVE SUCKS NOW" Right side of frame, Fred has his hand on the mask, about to pull it off. The caption on him reads, "LET'S SEE WHO'S BEHIND THIS." Second frame: The unmasked bad guy has a pencil thin curling mustache, a pointy nose, and dark hair, with a widow's peak. The caption on him reads, "PRIVATE EQUITY"

Starting a mid-decade redistricting war only to end up with -1 seats is the same fine strategic genius and subtle grasp of game theory that brough us the Strait of Hormuz.
So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out
“The former official said he doesn't think Trump is playing ‘the sort of three-dimensional chess people ascribe to decisions like this. More often than not he's just eating the pieces.’"
The whining from the worst Republican you know will be quite delicious
The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.
The Dildo of Consequences rarely arrives lubed.
Holy crap the Dodgers-Giants all-time series is 1288 to 1288. Rubber game starting now.
After building the best public education system in the world brought us the Counterculture and the Anti-War Movement, conservatives in the US began a 50+ year assault to destroy public education.
Let's call this policy what this is.
It's socialism. It's Leftism. And it's curing actual ills. Righting institutional wrongs.
It's not coming from someone who is infallible, or someone who is always correct.
It's coming from someone who promised to help and is trying to keep those promises.
Trump is within sight of an under 30% overall approval rating.
One of the most important causes right now is to establish a media narrative and popular support behind severe punishments and consequences to our present criminals running things.
This is so cathartic, because this is how I want to talk to that weirdo.
Here’s the 5th Circuit’s opinion openly and directly defying an on-point Supreme Court precedent that prohibits the display of the 10 Commandments in public school classrooms.
Shameless defiance of SCOTUS, but we’ll see if the supermajority cares. txvalues.org/wp-content/u...
JUST IN: A federal judge has tossed a defamation lawsuit Kash Patel brought against former FBI official / pundit Frank Figliuzzi.
Figliuzzi’s claim that Patel spent more time in nightclubs than at FBI HQ was “rhetorical hyperbole,” the judge rules.

The proposal would strip local agencies of the choice to opt out of immigration enforcement — even for people who haven't been convicted of a crime

WaPo says that Warsh “promised independence” and “demonstrated seriousness” during his hearing. When asked who won the 2020 election, he basically hid under the table. Promises of independence from someone so cowed and cowardly are less than meaningless.
Among the motions, the govt. seeks to bar defendants from making 1A arguments at trial, and to exclude "evidence or argument designed to elicit jury nullification," incl. arguments re: vindictive prosecution, "outrageous" govt. conduct, reference to ICE/CBP shootings and other violence, etc.
The Trump administration is going after the Jews who fight Nazis by claiming the Jews are actually the Nazis.
It’s actually perfectly in keeping with their weird-ass post-modern fascism thing.
Multiple oil spills are visible from space after Iranian and US-Israeli strikes hit oil facilities and ships in the region, with experts warning of an impending environmental catastrophe. https://cnn.it/3Ovxzwk
Satellite imagery reveals that US has damaged or destroyed an estimated 7,645 buildings in Iran (including 60 schools) while killing at least 3,300 individuals since 28 Feb. Nearly 3,000 of those buildings were in Tehran
fuck sam altman forever for taking away the last places where we could engage in good faith: the creative arts, which should be a testament to human ingenuity. i am so mad that everything i read or listen to or admire is now tainted with doubt. do you understand? he is a thief of joy and i HATE HIM
Trump's cabinet is a geek show of unprofessionals. This week we learned how Trump's Labor secretary, who held no professional qualifications for the job, displayed no interest whatsoever in what her ministry did, but had a strong focus on sex with her security detail, and pimping out young women
Let's be clear: The Trump Admin's vendetta against the SPLC is a sign of how impactful their work is.
The SPLC has been at the forefront of exposing some of America's most notorious hate groups, like the KKK. The fact that the Trump Admin feels threatened by that speaks volumes.
Thirteen U.S. troops died trying to get these people to safety — Afghan interpreters, soldiers, and the families of our service members. Veterans spent sleepless nights during the chaotic withdrawal fighting to keep them alive. Now our own government is going to abandon them.
SPLC used paid informants within extremist circles to infiltrate the system of hate & investigate w help if law enforcement
DOJ saying SPLC "funded extremist groups" & "money laundered"
Is just upside down world
This lawsuit is probably to uncover the informants
