A family of Ravens is putting the goth back in gothic at NYC's largest cathedral--St John the Divine. There are five mouths to feed, so the parents are staying busy! ⛪️⛪️⛪️ #Ravens #Cathedral #birding

A red tailed hawk starting to take flight off a telephone pole with high voltage signage
Caught a red tailed hawk album cover today. 🪶
It's distressing to read this. I'm curious if there is any distinct data on homeschooled children and how they're performing in college. No doubt there are many committed parents making sure their kids are learning at home, but how many aren't being taught critical thinking skills?
A very tiny bright orange baby salamander. It is extraordinarily cute, lying happily on moss.
We saw our first little red eft of the year today. If you see one please do not pick it up! Their skin is highly porous and the salt, oils, lotion, sunblock, bug spray, etc. from your hands can make them sick. Use a leaf to move them if they must be relocated for their safety. ❤️

Yours is a profoundly important point. Somewhere along the line, the serious people decided that Economics would be the only serious measurement of advancement, & I think this caused real harm. I would like to learn more about that big bad divorce you mention if you have any reading to recommend.
Blue Jay and cardinal
Epic Showdown.
Sometimes, it really pays off when you remember to scroll down on an original post you'd previously seen. This is one of those times, lol.
I've reached the same conclusion. It's too damn big an ask. He needs to spend this purported growth time running for, winning and learning from holding lower offices in his community before getting anywhere near the US Senate. Earn it, son.
My daughter's favorite, too.
hear, hear!
ankylosaurus holds a special place in my heart
what horrible people... I'm so sorry you're going through this.
Wild...I knew a Harry Bush, too! Sensibly, when he became an adult, he legally took his mother's maiden name.
yes!

You know, for a bird with all black feathers, Common Grackles sure are colourful.

Not a fan, but I feel like they missed a huge opportunity in not doing Tang flavored Peeps this year. We went to the moooon!
Some of the largest employers in America like Walmart & McDonald's won't give their employees 40 hours a week full-time work because that triggers additional mandatory benefits like insurance & paid sick time/vacation time. That forces employees to find additional jobs just to pay their bills.
this is incredible work. I hope you'll let us know when it is available for sale, as I would love to display this in my home.
A friend owns a small local venue, & he pays a fantastic graphic artist to make posters for upcoming shows (the guy is also a musician who plays there). They're so good that people kept stealing the posters before the show dates, so now he writes "Do Not Steal" in bold black letters on them, lol.
" sorry you missed me"
Incredible, although thanks to trickle down grifting and deregulated capitalism, there are plenty of Americans living on less than $50,000 a year who might be desperate enough to take this high-risk job for pay that low.
God, she's an insufferable dolt.
If the cat loves & trusts y'all, to get it to wink on command, just slowly wink squint your eyes at them, & they'll do it right back pretty much every time. Have kid2 try it & show the wife, so domestic peace will return once again (plus your cat will be really happy since it's a sign of affection).
There can be only one!
Lovely high voice, but I immediately worried that those alligators heard a lamb or goat... this feels like a very bad idea.
today in photos. some birds i've seen in my backyard. taken with a lumix g9 and the pana-leica 100-400mm telephoto lens
YEEEESSSS! It's maddening
Core memory unlocked. I had forgotten, but my grandmother would sometimes get her little rectangular metal can of Swiss mocha out and brew us each a cup when we would read together on rainy days. I loved those days with her.
yep... it's lagging for me, and I'm not on a Mac.
