Learning about Autistic experiences can feel like entering a whole new world of terminology and ideas, but even familiarising yourself with some of the more common terms can pay off hugely.

People are othered and dismissed via the idea that there is "a right kind of human, a template against which all others are measured, one that we must seek to ‘be’ in order to belong."

What happens when the inevitable tide of change comes crashing in and you're left staring at a smashed sandcastle?
I feel like “a couple of times” is probably a gross understatement, particularly if you’re neurodivergent.

There's no such thing as "ADHD-friendly".
We're all unique individuals with unique accessibility needs, so where has the myth of the monolithic neurotype come from?

No one can fight every battle.
When I shared pics of a pre-pub copy of this book it gained 100s of likes, and dozens of comments from therapists keen for a copy. With the recent ignorant attacks on Autistic existence, Neurodivergent Somatics in Therapy is arriving at the ideal time.

Three essential articles on neurodiversity that I find myself signposting people to again and again...

Which would you add?
Absolutely, but that's so individual. I rave about the work of particular people and consider it the 'best', but others don't resonate with it at all. And I'm always discovering new people and ideas, learning and unlearning, so my personal conception of what's top quality changes regularly too.
There's more & more support out there for ND people!
My monthly Neurodiversity Newsletter rounds up neuroaffirming online webinars & events for the month ahead, and signposts to many of the latest books, resources and information from dozens of sources.

There's a lot of discussion of 'profound autism', which makes Dr Joanna Grace's new book particularly timely.
