87' Honda CRX Si. Wish I'd never sold it, but we were about to need a back seat, and had nowhere that we could park an extra car.

Also, wish we'd bought that lightly used MR2 Turbo that we looked at in the early 2000s, but even though we could afford it, it was more $ that we wanted to spend.

At a time when mass surveillance and autonomous weapons companies like Palantir are openly announcing their plans for violent world domination, it is crucial that our attempts at “big tech reform” don’t actually give them more power—ie via government mandated age verification/identity software

Their concerns are not about being caught or found out. They know there's going to be no consequences... because there won't be.

Anyone who has ever actually been in a data center knows that physical security is a priority there, even at minor ones. If you get in (which you're not), you're not getting out.

And if the Halon/etc system were to "accidentally" be fired, precious metals and cops are the least of your concerns.

Actions scream louder than words, and zero Republicans in DC are respecting or promoting the rule of law today. Zero.

Not anymore.

This may have been true 10 years ago, but the party has changed. If you care for the rule of law, you can't support the GOP in 2026. Maybe again someday.

Predator. Sooner or later, the stories will come out. You don't spend that much time with political clout on Florida without them.

Because he's not running things. He doesn't have the mental capacity or desire to make complicated decisions. He delegates, and they tell him what he wants to hear.

It does not help that anyone who speaks out publicly about how Israel is not a good actor in the middle east is accused of antisemitism.

There is a very loud, very powerful faction that has been actively trying to equate Judaism with Israel for decades. They now reap what they've sown.

Evangelical women disproportionately have daddy issues.

this is but a symptom, and it's a very common one at that.

Sitting in the sun at the old Monterey Train station, eating fish tacos, working remotely through my hotspot, and listening to The Highwaymen (in its entirety) that this fine, fine establishment has decided to play this lovely afternoon.

No, I don't miss 90 degree days and East Coast attire at all.

I wear contact lenses 95% of the time. When I don't, my glasses of choice are RayBan Wayfarers, with photochromatic (self-tinting) lenses.

I am very annoyed at Meta's choice to add cameras to these timeless glasses. I do not want to share a sense of style with the perverts that those are made for.

After a couple hours of it sitting in the Florida sun, you'll be glad that it's in the kind of location where you can use the john with the door wide open.

And then there are the maltitol sweetened, zero-sugar gummy bears, mainstay of pranksters, destroyers of latrines.

Sugar (after heating) remains the best solidifying agent in candy. If you only need liquid form (including popsicles and most gum) or you're adding bubbles to hide the aftertaste, it's easy to make a good product.

But if it needs to be solid at room temperature, you've still got a challenge.

"Fabricating audit evidence" is hardly differentiating in the compliance space.

They apparently raised Excel-based fiction to an art form and collected VC money and hype to do it, though. I can't help but be impressed by skill of raising a simple grift to AI-powered automated grift as a service.

In addition to a beautiful purple, plants that do that with cold also develop somewhat different terpenes and flavor profiles, which is fun if you're mostly growing clones year by year.

I think the top left is ready. I'd give the others a little more time for the hairs to darken just a bit. Maybe a couple of days?

The purple in there suggest they've seen some cold? If they haven't, then maybe next time consider chilling those MFers about 2 weeks after you reduce light?

We use indoor/outdoor rugs in our kitchen.

It's such a pleasure to take them outside and pressure-wash them with purple industrial cleaner and car-wash fluid, and let them dry in the sun. Cleanest rugs in the house, even as we're constantly dropping food on them.
