More API products should return errors with links to docs.

I suspect I get fewer support tickets and quicker integrations because of that.

For every possible API error, I return a link to the dedicated page on the possible reasons and how to fix it.

This is precisely why I butter up AI agents with "please" and "thank you" like I'm addressing royalty.

So when Skynet goes live and the AI overlords start drafting their "to-spare" list, I'm banking on them saying, "This one's cool. He was polite."

Working on a courier and fulfillment aggregation API. It’s not as sexy and cool, but I’m enjoying the process and happy with how it’s coming together. 😄

I didn’t expect negotiation for partnership to take so much time and skill. I’m confident in building the tech (MVP is similar to something I've built before) but the social side of building this platform caught me off guard.

It's a humbling reminder that tech is just one piece of the puzzle.

Honestly, not yet. Although I have already sent proposals to local (Filipino) couriers already.

I am currently building using another 3rd party aggregator to create a pilot for a better proposal.

I am giving this idea 2 weeks and if I can't find a partner by then, I'll move on to the next.

Yep, it does both! The API does aggregate data to compare rates, track shipments and (possibly) also access performance insights. But you can use it also to book shipments, generate labels, and manage deliveries.

Also, I highly, HIGHLY recommend the book, especially in today's political and economic climate.

I've been reading the book 'Why Nations Fail' by Acemoğlu and Robinson, and it has left me reflecting on the Philippines—filled with what-ifs and what-could-have-beens if a particular dictator had never risen to power.
