This is the definition of “long shot” but I have to try.

Our dog Lucy wandered off tonight around 6 pm in northeast Rochester, MN and we haven’t been able to find her. If you or someone you know are in Rochester, please ask them to keep an eye out…DM me for contract info.

Deadspin | Welcome Back To College Football, Where God's Away On Business Deadspin | Welcome Back To College Football, Where God's Away On Business

weird request but does anyone have an archived link to this old @edsbs.bsky.social piece? it’s one of my favorite pieces of sportswriting ever and if god damn Vox scrubbed it from the internet forever I’m going to be irate. deadspin.com/welcome-back...

one of the best weeks on the internet every year. please consider joining me. a dollar (plus fees like a gentleman) for every yard that Cooper DeJean’s grotesquely illegal fair catch punt return was called back in 2023. @edsbs.bsky.social @hollyanderson.bsky.social

Once again, moved to tears by the heroism of my friends and neighbors. You think you know what it is to show up for others and be a good person and if you're lucky you'll live a life full of people constantly pushing you to think bigger and do more in pursuit of those goals.

Signing off. I'll see you all later.

As far as I can tell, everybody on Minneapolis BlueSky is spending the day deeply engaging with local politics and everyone on Saint Paul BlueSky is spending the day eating a giant sandwich and drinking beer. And that feels right to me.

Black parents are not 'safety stories.' We deserve real change - MinnPost If we want to lower the maternal death rate for Black parents in Minnesota, we need more than apologies and 'safety stories.' We need policy.

“Let’s stop turning Black trauma into ‘safety stories.’ Let’s fund the advocates who keep us safe and pass the laws that guarantee safe staffing levels in our hospitals. Our lives depend on it.” –Minnesota State Senator Clare Oumou Verbeten

he screamed “we’re doing a bit!” at some children who were unknown to us. he was in his element.

I am being 100% serious when I say - the cure to whatever the “male loneliness epidemic” is matching minor league baseball jackets and novelty ballpark concessions.

Reality TV star Luke Gulbranson to challenge Republican Rep. Pete Stauber Gulbranson’s entry comes just weeks before the Eighth District DFL’s endorsing convention and he plans to run in a primary if he doesn’t get the endorsement.

sheepishly asking my wife “can you explain this guy from Summer House to me” after years of politely nodding and smiling and zoning out at Bravo gossip. www.startribune.com/reality-tv-s...

really great teams have multiple ways to win. without our full compliment of attackers, set pieces + a clean sheet is sort of all we have. and it’s just hard to ride one option through all the variance of a season.

Animales is a blast for younger kids with the play space, or Centro is great for variety of options/space with kids.

it’s always the guys that you and every other former congressional staffer suspected for the last 15 years. crazy how that works out.

my child got mad at us last night at because “the Easter bunny already came to my house when Granny was here he can’t come again it’s not my turn” and is now refusing to hunt eggs because she “wants to give some of my stuffies to other kids.” I got a tremendously sweet, if odd, 3 year old.

I don’t think “the algorithm is bad and will cook people’s brains” and “the sentiments and beliefs of people who spend time there (the vast majority of whom are not there for hard/political news) are closer to the American median than those on Bluesky” are sentiments that exist in conflict.

all I said was more representative than this place! which is a tremendously low bar. so much so that I’m not even sure what the argument against it would be.

2 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

for whatever else Twitter is now it is significantly closer to and more representative of median American ideas, language, and culture than this place is. whether we like those ideas or that culture is a very different question. but it is significantly more representative of those realities!

it’s not a problem that needs solving, I guess is my point.

I describe this place as being the methadone to peak Twitter’s heroin. it is a perfectly acceptable place to post and get the posting out of your system. and I think that’s what most people here want out of it. it won’t ever have the cultural significance or mainstream adoption, but that’s fine.

I actually feel like Bluesky being too “sweet” is part of the problem. unless there are corners of this site where opinions that are a little more mainstream and a little edgier are being rewarded - then yeah the ceiling on this place is pretty low. but that’s fine! that’s not inherently an issue.
