I don't know how I'll survive until February ngl

I think I just wasn't built for doing artistic stuff, because I really don't understand any of it lol
"I love every one of you, except for the ones I don't" - calamari clara probably, 2024
ONK This is so peak
I'm honestly so glad this week's Re:Zero episode was so good because I'm happy to just have positive things to say, easily a 10/10 episode
It's also an interestingly terrible choice for CR to completely remove watching the original as an option, so now the only option you have is piracy if you want to watch the TV release. Not to mention CR's sub translations are generally pretty low quality even compared to fansubs
Ironically enough, I think the Director's cut is the worse way to watch season 1 compared to the original TV release, because they change the pacing and the original structure was designed around episode endings that get merged in the DC
At that point I might actually finish reading Arc 7 if the Re:Zero withdrawals feel bad enough
Maybe I should set up post synchronization with Twitter, seems pretty interesting

Just thought about how Roy getting overshadowed and replaced by his brother Lye metatextually mirrors the dynamics of the Juukulius brothers and Rem and Ram, but that's 100% not intended and just coincidental, although tragically hilarious
(Posted on Twitter 12 hours ago, forgot to repost here 😭)
Sometimes I feel bad being so critical because I think it doesn't come across that I actually do enjoy the episodes a lot 😭
Here's some! If you have any ideas for additions hit me up :D

I'm more inclined to be critical of shortcuts studios are taking at the expense of artistic display and respect to their source material, especially if you look at what's happening to shows like Uzumaki or Blue Lock, rather than let them think they can make those sacrifices and not get flak for it
Maybe it's harsh to say, but I find it's hard to defend especially since production companies like Kadokawa have shown increasingly they care less about the quality of their shows and are more interested in pushing the absolute minimum quality slop to maximize profits and to fill their yearly quotas
The bad part of watching through Muse Asia though is that it's limited to 720p, I need a VPN to watch, and since it's on YouTube stuff like Subaru's death in episode 2 gets heavily censored; if I could just download their subs to use on Crunchyroll's video files it'd be perfect
I rewatched the Re:Zero episodes on Muse Asia, and it's actually crazy how much more understandable the subs are compared to Crunchyroll
On top of also translating the lyrics of the OP, ED, and the Love Song of the Sword Demon, it's actually just a better watching experience
Don't forget story details getting changed retroactively due to illustration fuckups 😭 (I genuinely barely understand what's going on with Roy anymore)
ありうべ
It is! And MIT licensed I think. I'm honestly surprised it's not something people bring up more often, especially when Elon made such a big deal about making Twitter "open sourced" (which he didn't follow through on, unsurprisingly lol)
Damn it's been a while since I read Oboreru IF, but is it implied that Otto is the one who stabbed Subaru? That's probably the only thing I don't remember from this IF
Also in-post translations, especially with how international Re:Zero's fandom can be I'd rather not break my flow so much just trying to understand someone's post 😭
I hope threads get merged into the composer soon, since I kinda want people to start posting their Re:Zero threads here and being able to write them directly in the app might help encourage that
posteing.pages.dev exists and works but I'd still prefer an in-client solution, especially for mobile
I find a not-insignificant amount of Re:Zero discussion is just from people replying to each other, so I think if you get episode threads and discussions here eventually you'll see more activity
We'll see if it pops off a bit more when Wednesday comes around, who knows
hi
Feeds still feel a bit volatile, I'm kinda hoping an actual Communities equivalents gets proposed at some point
I wonder if any third party client apps will pick up the slack, so far Graysky adds stuff like the Like tab and join dates, but for both there's still a lot of stuff missing and feature requests still open on the GitHub issues
Ye, I have my misgivings but overall it's really fun and I look forward to Wednesdays
