A great Bluesky feature: if somebody replies with abuse, you can hide that reply from *everyone*. This is an excellent way to prevent harassment from snitch tagging.

This very much fits with my experience too. Hypno is a set of skills for the hypnotee as much as the hypnotist, and it’s something that many of the phenomenon are things that you have to feel your way into, and once it’s worked the first time it’s much easier to repeat.

I think you can both know what’s “really” happening and still have it feel involuntary - it’s a combination of skills for the hypnotist and hypnotee to make it happen - but I’ve played with folks who have excellent agency and can still feel the involuntariness they are looking for

People who like hypnosis often fear "ruining the magic" by acknowledging how actively involved the subject is in creating the experience. But to acknowledge similarities between hypnosis and playing pretend is not to diminish hypnosis, but to acknowledge the true intensity and magic of pretend

Trans day of remembrance. Don't just focus on those trans people who have been murdered by strangers in public. Also remember the trans people who were denied healthcare, allowed to die in prison, encouraged to kill themselves by their loved ones, buried under the wrong name by their families.

Cannot stress enough- porn bans are not actually about porn.

It's about banning gender expression, information about reproductive health, anything that is pro lgtbq, anything that conservative Christians perceive as sexual... and porn.

I find the pickup artists kind of morbidly fascinating - when I first wanted to learn about erotic hypno I found an offer for “speed seduction training” and was so confused but fascinated that anyone wanted that. Fun fantasy, shitty reality even if it worked.

Unfortunately I don’t think there are safe states at this point and it’s terrifying.
