Gearing up for my first solo road trip following the loss of my darling wife by listening to the 50th Anniversary boxset ed. of 'Bongo Fury' by @frankzappa.bsky.social, Captain Beefheart, and the Mothers. As one does. #Music
Afternoon, Gentle Men. I'm having a Buddy Guy moment at the moment.
R.I.P. Sam Kieth, co-creator of The Sandman comic. Fantastic artist, taken too young (63). #Comics
#BOOKS Just finished 'Figures Crossing the Field Towards the Group' (TangerinePress 2025) by Rebecca Gransden. Very literate horror novel, beautifully executed. Currently short-listed for the Queen Mary Small Press Fiction Prize, deservedly. #READING
I'll hunt it up. Thx. You good?
So, I got a notice today addressed to my late wife from the SD Country Registrar of Voters telling her that her "registration record is scheduled to be cancelled ... due to ... [her] ineligibility to vote ... due to ... death ..." Yep, that'll do it.
#Music R.I.P. John Hammond, Jr. What a distinguished career and lineage.
Well, this weekend I received my late wife's death certificate. I guess it hasn't all been just a bad dream. ๐
Nice. My wife would have loved that!
#Books Finished #reading 'Whitefoot' (Counterpoint, 2009), a children's book (illustrated) I found on my late darling wife's night table while ridding our bedroom of the death juju. This from that: "That one lives at the center of the world is the world's profoundest thought."
Related to Dewey Cheatham and Howe.
Wow. @misterquartet.bsky.social Cloudland Blue Eclectic Selection 2026 Vol 04 was fabulous. And plus also too, Mr. Blue used the expression "jiggery pokery"!
@misterquartet.bsky.social Thanks for all the classical music on vol. 04. Very nice.
Thank you, Peter. No one deserved the brutality of the last 17 months, least of all my luminous Sherri. ๐
