Article reads: Woman named as Archbishop of Canterbury in historic first The 63-year-old archbishop-designate is married to Eamonn Mullally, with whom she has two children. Originally from Woking in Surrey, she was the UK's chief nursing officer from 1999 to 2004.
This article manages to name her husband before it names… her.

Let’s be aspirational! Let’s defeat Farage & in the next 5 years #RejoinTheEU
And for those who say the EU don’t want us back, or Farage will overturn it, I say yes they do & let’s rejoin on the understanding & written agreement that we won’t leave again! We are 💯 IN for good!🇬🇧🇪🇺🤝

2/2 The fact politicians and journalists haven’t described it as such - and have not held Reform to account for plans to deport hundreds of thousands of black and Asian people - is insane to me
I do not believe 20 years ago people would have been so squeamish about saying this publicly
1/2 I may be wrong, but I think this is the first time this has been put plainly by a cabinet minister
I’ve had conversations with non Labour people at conference, from right to hard right, & they’ve identified the indefinite leave policy as targeting non-Europeans for deportations i.e not white
Starmer is playing right into Reform’s hands—instead of insisting on a progressive (re-)framing of politics and society. Starmer seems to think that by pivoting to the right, he can stem the rise of Reform, but I suspect this will only deepen their support by reinforcing their preferred framing.
When people email me, saying, "Jack...I am so tired. Have any words of wisdom to help me find the motivation to keep moving?," I say this:
If you woke up and discovered a spider on your face...would you need to be motivated to get up?
As a someone in this country, you have a spider on your face.
Where Democracy is still on the menu !!! 💯💥
Yep, that's great. Just fantastic. We were told that Starmer would lay out the patriotic case for diversity today. What we got was an article in the Telegraph, behind a paywall, about how the left failed to tackle immigration and now we all have to have ID cards www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/09...

The tide is turning, the end is coming.
She came into her job widely accused of being a foreign asset.
She now responds to those credible allegations by doing the first thing any foreign asset would do in her role: bury all intelligence on pending foreign threats to the United States.
It's almost like America doesn't *want* to survive.

(From Mastodon): You know your plan is garbage when Alliance, DUP, UUP, SDLP, and Sinn Féin are all on the same side.
With one fell swoop, Keir Starmer unified Northern Ireland (against his BritCard).
The community note has it right.
As Keir Starmer continues to "get it wrong" on migration, this @eastangliabylines.co.uk article by Cambridge for Europe committee member Camilla Cucinotta is as relevant as when first published earlier this year.

The depressing thing about today is that it was sold as Starmer's answer to Reform. This is apparently what he has to offer as a vision of a confident diverse nation: ID cards. Just utterly joyless and emotionless.
The most accurate recreation of DS9 I've seen.

National Front —> BNP —> UKIP —> Brexit Party —> Reform
Different names, same racist bigotry.
Don’t let Reform voters claim they are anything but the National Front in disguise.
WE SEE YOU.
