That's beside the point. Of course this is awful and undemocratic. But if we had moved on regional reform ourselves more than a decade ago when multiple grassroots efforts tried to lead the charge, we wouldn't be subjected to the undemocratic awfulness we're currently getting.
We're a victim of our own unwillingness to do what was right years ago.
