It will be hard. Social interaction is a muscle and we MUST strengthen it. It will take work and you will be exhausted at times. But it IS something you can and MUST strengthen. Community is something we build with our own fucking hands.

Yes. Punch Nazis. Tear down their signs. Do not give them space. But you MUST at the same time be making POSITIVE STEPS TOWARDS OTHERS. If you do not build community, then you cannot change anyone’s mind. I promise you this.

Hang out in the park. This makes the park feel safer, and more people will join you. Hang out on your FRONT lawn. This makes your neighborhood feel safer and more people will do the same. Exist in the spaces that feel hostile; existing in them is what makes them less hostile.
