Four near-identical model locomotives with faces sit in a model railway station. They are different versions of the character 'Maude' from the series 'Auld Lang Syne' which you should totally check out x

They are all the same engine ('Maude' an NBR C class/LNER J36 named after a WWI general) but each model represents a different period of the locomotive's history.

Clockwise: 1920s Maude, 1930s Maude, 1950s Maude, 1980s Maude.

1920s Maude is painted early LNER goods black (complete with red lining). His expression is neutral and he is sporting his Amry 'tache (known as The Slug in canon).

1930s Maude is painted in plain LNER goods black. His expression is grumpy.

1950s Maude is painted in BR black. We cannot see his face in this particular picture.

1980s Maude is painted in NBR lined black (double straw lining). His name is picked out in gold-shaded letters. We cannot see this Maude's face in this particular image.

An alternative view showing the faces of 1950s Maude and 1980s Maude.

1950s Maude is painted in BR black. His facial expression is neutral.

1980s Maude is just in frame. Atop his smokebox is a headboard in red that proclaims 'BO'NESS' as his destination. This maude is much older than the others - his facial hair has greyed and The Slug has made a combat, as was the style at the time.

The MAUDE committee met up at Haymarket station today. They say that they're working on 'Tube Alloys'... whatever that means.

Fun fact the main leader of my train club was amazed at the little engine's ability to not cut out on everything and run smoothly. Not to mention the pulling power

My little oc, Mouse. A hodgepodge of a narrow gauge engine crafted by a handful of Irish miners who built her with clever hands and love in their hearts.

They needed a small engine to shunt through the tunnels, luckily with plenty spare parts around to do so.
