He used a scanner to keep an eye on the hatchling's vitals.

"So far, it looks like I was proven right."

He then offered the bottle to the hatchling.

"I do not know too much about your individual makeup. But I do hope that at least mineral water with additional nutrient supplements will be as good for your well-being as it would my own."

A quick perusal of the surroundings did not produce a nest for the being to return. Nor anyone who seemed to be missing their "child" or "pet".

The saurian's search would have to be on hold for the time being. He produced a bottle from a satchel-like device sitting on his waist.

"Thirsty?"

It would certainly not be the first time the saurian agent would be called upon to take care of an infant lifeform. But even so...not even being fully aware of what the hatching is would make securing proper nutrition an additional challenge.

"Well, a step at a time, yes, little one?"

"...oh!"

He examined the lifeform that hatched from the egg.

It was certainly not a lifeform that he recognized. From personal experience or within his ship's encyclopedic databases.

"Welcome to the world, little one..." He said calmly to the small creature.

"Hmmmm...you can hear me? Or perhaps you can...'understand' me in some other way? I actually have quite a bit of experience with the latter, if that would help you get back to where you need to be."

He waved a hand over the egg. Violet lights from the saurian's suit scanned it, and proved it was not an egg indigenous to this region of the world.

"Fascinating. Let us see if we can reunite you with your 'nest', shall we?" He spoke to the egg with a glib smile on his beak.

"Very well, then. If only to ensure you reach your destination safely. Being tired or inebriated when making even a familiar journey is still nothing to leave to chance."

"How curious. An egg, alone and exposed to the elements? I wonder if a nest is nearby?"

He gently picked the Digitama up.

"Hmm. Do you require aid to get back there?"

"The humans are especially festive today."

"Unfortunately, it also is one of the days where warp phenomenon peaks. Allowing a number of denizens from other planes of existence to cross over to this one."

"I will probably have a quite busy night, ahead..."

"...if you are genuinely tired, perhaps you are due some actual rest, instead of trying to rely on caffeine. Ideally, within your own dwelling."

"Even if you are largely 'retired' from that life...it may still pay to at least make sure your skills stay sharp. You never know when a fight might still come to your doorstep."

"No, but from what I have gathered, it is a holiday where various types of confection are administered among the human children. So, I would assume you could eat those."

"I can understand that. I just know you are lot are capable of quite a bit, no matter the size or appearance. For example...your gauntlets with seemingly endless ammunition."

"I will do my best. But having said that...it would seem a lot of Digimon are more than capable of defending themselves. Would they really have reason to fear me?"

"It is apt that you mentioned how so many of your fellows have appearances. I am sure I passed by a small, orange-colored saurian child a day ago. Theropod descent."

"...'Dinosaur thing'?" The agent snorted with a smile.

"I suppose I will take what I can get. Though considering the variety of forms you 'digital beings' can come in...is 'thing' at all an apt descriptor?"

So....is this how humans communicate now? Neat.

"...I think I understand. Your kind effectively 'feed' on the emotional power of those around you, as it is. So, perhaps it only makes sense that which was handcrafted by another, resonates far more than a blended and canned compound from a concentrated formula..."

A chuckle.

"A theory, anyway."

"True, indeed. Though I guess you may want to use an energy drink, like those...'Scarlet Bovine' ones, of you need to be actually alert."

"If it is both worthwhile, and for the right reason? That is hardly cause for diminishing your own accomplishments. Each of us has own our route to travel, after all."

He noticed the yawn.

"...so, the caffeine was not enough to give you more energy?"

He nodded as Ein regaled him with a bit of his past.

"So, would it be correct to say your kind has a warrior culture, as well?" The saurian asked. "The thread in common I see from both you and Saffire, is a history filled with battle. And I have heard similar from some others, too."

"Noted," he said with a smile on his beak. "I will be sure to pass on the message."

"As for your query? Well...obviously, I am familiar with Saffire's history and how he came to this world. I would be interested in hearing a bit of your own."

If there were other Triceratons active within this sector, the likelihood is Sanban would know.

But then, who else could be? Neither the Styracodons nor their allies, the Protoceratons, were active on this side of space, to his knowledge.

"How interesting. Maybe I will run into them, myself."
