This is true, but one of the nicest features of a "men's" public/business restroom is the urinal. It is one of the most under stated inventions in the world.
It is for sure one thing I miss in the gender neutral bathroom.

But tax payers give them billions to research, so yeah why is research so expensive?
"The National Institutes of Health (NIH) funds biomedical research and development (R&D) that contributes to drug development. In 2021, the NIH's budget was $43 billion"
They still don't know what causes it. 🤣
It is actually grown from genetically altered bacteria or yeast.
It is natural, all mammals produce insulin. Before the analogs and rDNA insulins they literally harvested insulin from pig and cow pancreases. AKA animal sourced.
IDK doesn't make sense to me why it cost so much more than penicillin
Be careful, my insulin pump made me lose 40 pounds and I am now down to 160. I couldn't eat, cause it did not give me enough insulin to prevent me from having high blood sugar. And as you know DKA will strip weight off of you like made. (it will also kill you) Be Very Careful.
And I don't think Trump will end this, but maybe just maybe since he is already a Billionaire, people will start to realize, the government is not for us. E.G. Trump stealing Top Secrete Documents verse Jack Teixeira. There are currently 2 forms of laws. And build a new one?
To me it is clear we live in an Oligarchy that has 2 parties that we hope and pray will win to do our representing, but never can do anything because "the other side" blocks any progress. E.G. Healthcare is priced for the wealthy only.
Women and minorities are paid less, etc etc.
I'm old, but to me it feels like democracy died before I was born. 330 million US citizens have 535 representatives representing us in this so called democracy, if you are lucky. E.G. Puerto Rico just has observers of democracy. Amendments are over written by law, E.G. 15th Amendment vs Jimmy Crow
True, but if even more people are getting diabetes, and the fact it has been around for millenniums. Should we not focus on curing it? Why do people have to suffer from diabetes, just because a new virus came out 5 years ago?
I don't have access to the article, is one of the reasons because of the advancements in medicine, diabetics are surviving longer now?
And it is the AMA, and CDC that claim food and lack are the biggest risk factors for type 2 diabetes.
The miss information is coming from the sources that should know better. My favorite is that the increase in diabetes is lifestyle (CDC) not higher survivorship. We know we are not to blame🤷♂️
The older I get, the less likely I am to tell them I have T1D, it really more fun that way. Cause they scratch their heads on why I have a pump, and have such a low A1C.
I guess maybe after all these years, it feels better to just let them have a surreal moment, rather than me explain, again.
Yes, I have many. 1) If LDL is used to fix nerves and hormone damaged cells. And diabetics have lots of nerve and hormone damage, why do we want to lower their LDL below normal levels?
Wouldn't that make us sicker? Don't we need the extra LDL to repair the damage diabetes is causing to our cells?
The food causes diabetes is weird, diabetes has been around for 2250 years, is in more mammals than just humans, and is in all countries. Sort of making diet and exercise is the cause, hard to believe. However, viruses...have been around 10K years, and affect multiple mammals.
I know there is someone out there that knows how to make animal sourced insulin at home. If someone can forward this to that person it would be fantastic, and can that person please share. I know we can save lives, even if we can only save our own. Banting did it, we can too right? Small steps.
Ozempic is a diabetes medication that helps the pancreas produce more insulin. It's a small protein called a peptide.
Thus it cannot be used to treat things like DKA, but it can be used to help make the body make more insulin.
"it appears that insulin is capable of activating the precise cellular pathway implicated in autism." pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC....
Image shows 7 insulin vials of Novolin R, Humalot, Humulin, Lantus, Apidra, levemir, and Novolog. Each vial is a little different but all of them have a larger base, with a smaller neck and color collard at the smaller top.
No, on those fancy planes i have heard the condiments come in little glass jars. Insulin vials have a very distinctive shape like this.
But, I mean the insulin issue has been going on for decades, it continually cost more and more every single year. Insurance constantly cost more each year too, and deductibles continue to climb as well. Desperation leads to people saying yeah what do we have to lose? Can't afford the traditional🤷♂️
I have an idea, that a researcher could probably help with.
The elevator pitch is, countries have wars, and hospitals get bombed, Natural disasters cause electricity to be dropped for days, and US medical is too expensive.
Could we create a way to DIY animal sourced insulin with small cost equip?
This is the thing that kills me about "the number of diabetics is going up" too. Yes there are more diabetics than ever before, because the therapies are now working, and they no longer die. It's not an epidemic it a higher survival rate. 🕊️💙
I took this for years, as a teenager, so you know it was a nightmare on nightmare. I lost many friends to dead in bed with it too, so please be-careful with it, don't rage rage bolus that stuff, it has a huge slingshot affect.
I keep hoping if they do end some regulation, they will end the regulation that blocks insulin from being imported from other countries. Just imagine how much cheaper US insulin would become if we could buy Russian, Mexican or German insulin over here.
Oh gosh this would be great in countries like the USA too.
We loose so many diabetics over here, due to cost and stigma. Making it cheaper would ease both of those burdens.
Thank @msf.bsky.social Keep up the good work.
I cannot disagree, literally 1.2 million Americans are diagnosed diabetic each year. Yet we only have 30 million diabetics, so the average life span of a diabetic in America is 25 years.
They bankrupt them, and then let them die, once they run out of $. 1.2(diag) x 25(yrs) = 30. Cattle for Cash.
I been diabetic before ADA, before Obamacare, since 1980, every single year it gets worse, more expensive harder to get supplies. Nothing has ever happen to change any of that.
In less words, don't panic the fight will continue.
Some day we will all just harvest our own insulin from pigs 😆
Wait is he proposing the cost of insulin fluctuates based on your waist size? So technically someone with a small waist could buy cheaper insulin, and sell it to large waisted people for a profit, but undercut the pharma companies.
Interesting idea. 🤷♂️
Does Canada often use diabetic kids fighting for fund raisers? Or is it just for the Royal Canadian Legion?
I have so many questions.
What if, this system is too far gone. Meaning that you know it is time to rewrite the constitution. I think there are numerous examples of how the current constitution is failing the "all people" and only allowing the elite to succeed. Why not fix it? why not update the constitution 2 current needs?
Look, I am new here. But I am an Old T1D. I need some community of T1D people so I can Laugh/Cry/Dance/Share about a chronic disease that no one else but those of us that have it, complete understand how insane it is.
No cures please last one almost killed me. 💉
