Mesmerizing light sheet imaging of neutrophils swarming at a yeast target!
The neutrophils were labeled with SPY650-DNA (yellow) and a calcium dye (blue).
This movie is part of the recent manuscript by @strickland-evelyn.bsky.social that we highly recommend reading!

Those of us doing research related to women’s health have been hit particularly hard by the govt’s sabotage of the NIH. I spoke to WaPo for this piece, as painful as it was to discuss the reality my lab is facing. www.washingtonpost.com/science/2026...

Did you not get to try okonomiyaki? I tried it while visiting Hiroshima and feel in love with the dish.
The key to democracy is showing up in large numbers
No one who wants to become Chair should ever be allowed to become Chair, and that is the heart of the problem.
Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez:
“The Government of Spain will not applaud those who set the world on fire just because they show up with a bucket.”

I checked with them. No union at their institution.
Is it possible to be a successful person/leader and not be a complete an utter a-hole? Seriously I'm starting to have my doubts.
This was quite the read.
Asking for an academic friend - anyone know of a lawyer or law firm that knows how to sue a University for damages inflicted by their actions on a faculty member's career?
People around the world wondering what this crazy old man has to do before America takes his car keys away from him.
Our advising crew in MolBio sat down and went through it together marveling at the strange nomenclature and logic.

Fig. 3. Her9 mutants display pigmentation defects. A-B′) Lateral (A-B) and dorsal (A′-B′) views of melanophore patterning in WT/heterozygous and her9 mutant larvae at 6 dpf. Black arrowheads, dorsal stripe; green arrowheads, lateral stripe; blue arrowheads, ventral stripe; red arrowheads, yolk stripe; SB, swim bladder. C-D) H&E staining of WT/heterozygous and her9 mutant retina at 7 dpf; the retinal pigmented epithelium (RPE) is indicated with a white arrow. E-F′) Xanothophore (xan) and iridophore (ir) patterning in WT/heterozygous and her9 mutant larvae. Her9 mutants have reduced abundance of iridiphores (asterisks) and greater spread of xanthophores (yellow) than WT or heterozygous siblings. G-I′) Dorsal view of iridiphores and melanophores on the heads of WT/heterozygous and her9 mutant larvae.

Thanks Shawn.
It's been three weeks to the day since my daughter passed away unexpectedly at home. I'm glad she was at home. I'm comforted by the EMTs who said she just went to sleep, likely after a seizure, and wasn't afraid. But god I miss my girl, her smiles, her mischievous eyes, her giggle. 💔
