the boys has a very interesting concept and the core foundation of satire it’s built on is extremely strong, but then half the story just felt like looking at a bunch of garbage pail kids stickers or something

garth ennis has written a whole bunch of comics i’ve really enjoyed, but i genuinely disliked the boys… there was a brief era in the mid-2000s when everything was so mark millar-y and edgelord-y and even by like 2010 that stuff was starting to become kinda cringe. it got in the way of the satire.

the only draft i’ve ever even enjoyed watching on tv was 2020, it was fun to see everybody at home with their families trying to figure out how to work a gopro camera, and football twitter was super lively because we were all at home too.
