Crossword Setters!

I’m writing a blog post on the ways in which setters choose their pseudonym(s)

I know some from my own circle, and have found some lovely stories in the public domain* but am also looking for any that I’ve missed so far

DM me with the story behind your name(s) please!

Thanks!

The underlying structural problems of UK politics that the country doesn't have the resources to do everything expected of it and a Westminster class in denial about this doesn't go away in the event of a new PM.

Apparently Raw milk sales not only increasing in the States but also the UK as the Guardian reports. This is unpasteurised milk with the ‘goodness’ of Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria, Campylobacter, Staphylococcus, Yersinia, & tuberculosis bacteria left in. Yet the Guardian didn’t say this…

Something I write about in the book is survivorship bias: how we only see the winners or most successful (those that survive some filtering process).

On a completely unrelated note, I’ve decided to share my Wordle results today!

Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story, Our Century review – apparently she was very good at shaking hands This royalist-pleasing hagiography is highly basic – and skims rapidly over the darker side of the crown. If you’ve seen The Crown, you know it all already

A huge day: my first one star review.

I sat through the BBC’s film about what would have been the Queen’s 100th birthday so you don’t have to. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

It’s amazing that out of the 6 photos Iain Macmillan took that Friday in 1969 on Abbey Road in St. John’s Wood - London, only frame 5 was any good, going on to become not just one of the most iconic album covers of all time but one of the most iconic photos of all time, period.

This happens all the time on my Gmail account. How do large companies - looking at you EE - send stuff (including name and address of their customer) to an unrelated third party.

When 3rd party asks to have their email removed EE say they can’t and cite GDPR!

To be fair to ReformUK, they aren’t the only party to concentrate on national issues and largely (or completely) ignore local issues that their councillors might have some influence over.
