My remarks are addressing a fact which is that there is mass hysteria going on and people are actively linking titles and talking about what discord is doing like it's discord pushing for these changes. Rushing to say let's replace discord when it's not just discord isn't helping.

And is the plan to also abandon twitch and bluesky since they are also implementing this?

Yes, yes they have. I have seen multiple people blame this change on discord making a choice to do it.

Y'all, do yourself and actually read the articles and what is going on. The situation is shitty, I agree. But not understanding the problem isn't doing the Speedrun community any favors. Twitter, blue sky, and twitch are doing the same changes. This isn't Discords decision, it's regulatory.

So unless we find a platform that 100% does not allow 18+ content, this is going to be an issue everywhere. Hence why actually understand what is going on and not just saying "discord is evil now" isn't helpful.

I will point out, they are doing this because they are required to by law. This was not Discord volunteering to do it. I appreciate and agree that finding alternatives is a smart idea, but spreading misinformation about what is going on is not helpful. Other platforms will still need to comply (1/2)
