Well the cycle infrastructure going alongside will be extremely welcome...
It is. Kudos @kevinwbaker.bsky.social
Yes, Dublin City Council indeed - Being shown up especially by SDCC
Dublin currently has ZERO cycle lanes under construction.
You'd think the climate crisis, collapsing AMOC, fossil fuel supply crisis, obesity epidemic, traffic jams or appalling road death increases didn't exist.
No urgency. Just subsidies for ... yep... more fossil fuels 😞

Yes this. Global conflict reveals what we've known for decades. Time to swap roads funding to sustainable transport.
Ireland's allocation for active travel doesn't even keep up with inflation 🙁
Nice piece by @colmanos.bsky.social and colleagues in @news.rte.ie here.

A race between car, bus and e-bike?
Now try it again with a dedicated bus-lane so full busses aren’t stuck in all that single-person car traffic.
Did I mention that they’re fun to use as well as practical?
This panel discussion about worsening traffic RTCs in #Ireland had some expertise on it. Worth a listen.

"The vast majority of residents across the State’s five main cities want increased investment in cycling infrastructure, even when that results in less road space for cars, the NTA’s 2025 Walking and Cycling Index has found." @darraghobrientd.bsky.social

Image of busy walking street with shops on the ground floor and other uses (offices, apartments) above. The text line says “Wait, we’re afraid of walkable distances now?” Tag line of the Urban Truth Collective at the bottom.
Conspiracy lovers and opportunistic politicians, with some wealthy folks working behind the scenes, have been trying REALLY hard to make us scared of the simple idea of having more things nearby, and more choices in how to get them.
Weird, right? #UrbanTruth
