Congrats to Hungary! I guess JD Vance shouldn’t be sent to influence anything as in Trump’s words he seems to be a big looser (cannot get myself to the all caps style though). Trying to influence elections did not work and Hungary is back as a EU partner and real member! 🎉🎉🎉

My little brother was in Afghanistan with the German army! He did so to defend the U.S., because Germany is part of #NATO. Certainly my brother did not stay a little back!!! @bundeskanzleramt.bsky.social I hope you do what Starmer did and call the idiot Trump finally out!
Just going to leave that here. Hope others follow his lead in becoming more independent from the U.S. and start resisting. It is indeed a new world order and living in the E.U. I hope our heads of state start finally saying 'no!' to the U.S. tyrant.

I hope all of you who voted for Trump will feel most how war and imperialism goes always hand in hand with shifting resources from the public to keeping the war machine running. Think again of your vote when you can see and feel that.
So what’s next? Europe and the U.S. start military hostility? How come there is no mechanism in the U.S. to stop that maniac? The damage he has done to his country is already permanent but for the arrogance they carried about being the best democracy in the world the U.S. fell quickly.
If the rest of the world leaders doesn’t understand it by now than I am not sure what more needs to happen. I am so frustrated that their is no western countries resistance to him. When will our elected leaders start doing the right thing and say enough is enough?
That the question of international law is even asked- the latest U.S. movements are simply neo-colonialism. It is about oil and the U.S. decided they want it. The threats to Colombia and Greenland-next steps?

As always, my deepest thanks go to all the co-researchers who so generously shared their stories with me. Nothing would have been possible without their trust.
Incredibly happy, as Urban Studies is one of my favourite journals, and ‘Volviendo a Vivir’ (Coming Back to Life): Urban Trauma, Activism and Building Emancipatory Futures (journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....) was also such a pleasure to write with Rachel Pain, on a topic very close to my heart.
We were shortlised for the Urban Studies Best Article 2024!
This is amazing and means so much!!!

As a result, the book is also innovative in the way that it combines text with audio-visual materials, which means, do take a look at the links in it and the videos that let the women share their knowledge literally. We are beyond happy to be able to share this book.
Plus, it is a guide to our methodology: hybrid participatory audio-visual research, that we developed and used in the last three years to work together.
The book has been co-written with the women co-researchers and shares their testimonies of displacement, their challenges in the urban and their hopes for better urban futures.
OMG here it is. Finally I have the book in my hands!
It is out and we are so thrilled to share our book 'Researching Displacement Together: co-producing knowledge with women in Colombia'.
Open access: www.routledge.com/Researching-...
I very much enjoyed sharing our #participatory and #audio-visual work where I collaborate with #displaced women and researchers in #Colombia as well as with Rachel Pain and @drjentarr.bsky.social from @newcastleuni.bsky.social Keep an eye out for our upcoming book end of July.
Happy to share our 3rd podcast on methods innovation! Laura Camfield and @keetieroelen.bsky.social in conversation with @sonjamarzi.bsky.social on how audivisual methods can help capture the complexity and sensitivity of research participants’ lived experiences.

Any one here has access and can share this chapter from Tronto? Much appreciated if yes

Back in grey cold NL. What a privilege that the women I met and know shared their spaces and lives so generously with me. I was invited to the most inspiring spaces which showed me how positive change can look like. Something desperately needed in the times we live.
Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to get to know two communities in and close to Cali. Thanks again for inviting me. Both communities are extremely inspiring and show us how to create communities of care, something I hope I will be able to explore more in the future with colleagues in Cali.
If you like to have some easy accessible explanation of consequences of Trumps decisions, especially USAID shut down, you can listen to the last episode of Pot Save the World. May not let you sleep easily though afterwards.https://crooked.com/podcast-series/pod-save-the-world/
