This is likely to deliver a 10-1 (Dem) congressional delegation in November, compared to 6-5 (Dem) now.

The remaining obstacle: State supreme court will be weighing in still.

I was worried because I literally saw a lot of yard signs so I wasn't thinking about the voter manipulation as much as I was thinking about Virginia's past. When I grew up there it was arrogantly red, with some unhappy dissenters.

Loudoun (104/107 precincts reporting) came in at 84% turnout of 2025. The red localities are running close 100% of 2025. That differential turnout if it holds up elsewhere will pull the election closer

This is absolutely what I've been telling people -- AI is as good or as bad as the people using it, as the people in power. It's a terrible time in history to roll out AI, with more authoritarian countries on the planet than democracies.

Yikes is right. I’d never voluntarily work under these unethical conditions. Giving up control of your byline is opening yourself up to liability, certainly loss of respect in this case. Your byline is your currency as a reporter. Shame on McClatchy.
