I mean heck, look at DBZA. It starts out as this ridiculous edgy parody where everyone is an idiot asshole, but when it came to adapting that scene in the gif? Not a shred of irony, but a genuine cover of the insert song instead. An exceedingly “uncool” song oozing with sincerity and pensiveness.

It just occurred to me that the reason why Dragon Ball Z caught on so hard was because it was about not just men being powerful, but men being powerful while screaming and even crying.
