My worst experience at Brussels Airport was flying from Newcastle to Geneva on the day Sabena went bust. Spent longer at Brussels than I expected.

The rot set in earlier, but I was utterly horrified by the Brexit Referendum with "Leave's" industrial-scale dishonesty and the BBC doing almost nothing to properly inform the public. Not only was Brexit a disaster in its own right, it also emboldened charlatans and destroyed critical reasoning
That is horrible, Jon. Very bad form.
Something very different on Progressive Pulse with a religious theme, which might be of interest@richardjmurphy.bsky.social ,a piece by me: www.progressivepulse.org/us-politics/...
In January, Donald Trump's ICE killed in cold blood Reneé Good & Alex Pretti...and then smeared these innocent civilians as "domestic terrorists". Incredibly, hapless and supposedly cash-strapped Stormont is now funding one of ICE's powerful tools.
I agree. I feel confident about using the term for M, as a consultant psychiatrist said it was appropriate. The word is, however, very much overused. Presentation is also very different in females than in males. Much less physical violence and much more psychological manipulation.
New piece by me. On Faith, Leo Trump, and what I have learned from personal trauma. Of interest to @alexhh.bsky.social and @samanthasearrings.bsky.social? www.progressivepulse.org/us-politics/...
This is very good from Alex. I don't understand why Americans are not far angrier. "Eternal vigalence is the price of liberty" and Americans should be panacking. If this were a nuclear reactor every single light on the control panel would be flashing red.
I wrotw this piece a while ago that might be still relavent www.progressivepulse.org/politics/bbc...
My son is fabulous, has the full measure of his Mother. Married in Nov '24 -I was invited to his fabulous wedding in Chiang Mai, but not his mother. He survived his childhood by having wonderful friends. (His mother made it impossible for me to find him - e.g., changing his name totally illegally)
Thanks. It was a very long time ago. The marriage was from '84 to '90. What was brutal was that we had a son who was being so emotionally abused by her that he was on the Leeds Child Protection Register. The court still gave her custody, and it was 32 years before I saw him again.
I was unfortunate to be married to a female with severe antisocial and narcissistic personality disorders. She viewed people as if they were cattle and was totally without conscience or empathy. It took me years to process. I was in denial. Trump is very much a male version.
Not always. For a while, our local paper reported repeated sightings of "the beast of Kirkley". Our young Flat Coat Retriever had made a habit of running off over the local countryside. He was very gentle and never attacked sheep, etc., but loved the freedom.
I was doing my PhD in Arizona in 1980, and the relentless Walter Cronkite sign-off-"this is day xxx of the Iran Hostage Crisis"-killed any chance of Carter being reelected. Luck plays a large part. Carter was a very unlucky president when Reagan was exceptionally lucky.
Ive followed John for years. In a past life, he did wonderful Sankey and probabilistic analyses about Brexit outcomes.
Maybe good things do happen!
Naw. Never catch on!
A long read but well worth your time! I'm very much hoping Orbán looses, but have been so disappointed in the past with elections e.g. Turkey
In case you missed it, my review of Arthur Snell's new book Elemental: www.progressivepulse.org/uncategorize...
#BidenFundedNASA
In 2025 Chump tried to defund NASA but he failed. He is trying again this year.
A fine city. I was there in a motorhome many years ago, parked overnight in a suburban side street. One of the residents came out. I was expecting "you can't park here" but he had a power cable in his hand and offered us free electricity for the night!
He will go lower next week
I liked Francis and the Italian prediction: Dopo un papa grasso, un papa magro - after a fat pope, a thin one often comes true. I am, however, warming to Leo even more. On the night of his election, I was dubious, but one of my dearest friends, Diane (a professor at MIT), said I would warm to him.
When Leo was elected, I was dubious. I liked Francis, and there is an Italian saying, "Dopo un papa grasso, un papa magro" - after a fat pope comes a thin pope. Im warming to Leo even more
Thanks!
Book review of @snellarthur.bsky.social's book Elemental. First piece I have written for a while: www.progressivepulse.org/uncategorize...
I think the last time I was so frightened was the night of the Brexit Referendum. I was convinced Leave would win. I hope Iran does not escalate into WWIII and there is no nuclear bomb on Tehran
Never had you down as a Trump voter.
Not one, but two waves of bombings appear to have struck the area of an elementary school in Minab, Iran. Local media reports 175 people were killed, mostly children. In this video we explain how we analysed footage of the attack on the first day of the US-Israeli war on Iran. youtu.be/yy9pzWul4mA
My memory was that they would get even moretham £60M as Westminster would be far more efficient than Brussels.
