I dunno about that, Bess. But it’s very kind of you to say so 🙂
Oh ja! 😳
Is it safe?
It is weird, Phil. And so relative. I remember thinking I might have liked to date a certain girl if she weren’t so old. She was like 19. Nowadays, it’s mostly women old enough to be her grandmother that quietly charm me. Lovey Howell was there all the time but my teenaged brain never noticed her.
…her own father’s life that she’d never heard. Probably because he’d open up to me about his experiences - hardships mostly - that he preferred to keep from his family: the war, losing his parents at an early age, discrimination as an Italian, etc..
Most folk won’t open up unless you ask & listen.
What you said 👍
My wife took some evening classes to finish up her degree. She found the presence of older people in class to be particularly enlightening, inasmuch as they could bring insight gained from their life experiences into the discussions.
And yet I’ll sometimes tell her stories about ⬇️
Boomer boys remember the Ginger versus Mary Ann debate (Mary Ann was my one and only).
My brother sent me this yesterday and I was shocked to find myself nodding in agreement.
Funny how that works 🤔
My favorite class at my Catholic primary school wasn’t a class. Once per week older people from our community would join us in a book discussion group of works by Chekhov, Turgenev, O. Henry, and such. No tests…just floating ideas and listening.
It was funded by the Great Books Foundation. 💙
I don’t believe the proletariat support him because they think that he cares about people. They support him because he hates and promises to hurt the people they hate.
The wealthy and the wannabe wealthy don’t care that he hurts people so long as he helps them make and keep more money.

“This is what I believe...
That my soul is a dark forest.
That my known self will never be more than a little clearing in the forest.
That gods, strange gods, come forth from the forest into the clearing of my known self, and then go back.
That I must have the courage to let them come and go.”

What she said 👍
Ja, mit Trump, “What you see is what you get.” Und was du bekommst, ist nur ein egoistisches, wütendes Kind.
I’m guessing the Hebrew word for “Smucker” is “Schmuck.”
Every point of the MAGA manifesto might be (and increasingly is) turned upside-down without loss of support, save one. The only truly necessary component for Trump's faithful is hate. So long as the hate remains then all else is forgiven.

Yup. Same.
