RI doesn't have a law to stop bid-rigging. Why are sponsors dropping off a bill to change that? At least one co-sponsor of a bill to stop bid-rigging in RI got a call from a McKee aide and was convinced to back off with their support.

It’s extraordinary how difficult it is to convince some judges of our Office’s expansive powers to fight for all RI’ers, including lead-poisoned children. They can’t fight for themselves against irresponsible/dangerous landlords. We’ll appeal. And win.
