๐Ÿ‘ Good news for the UK, which you won't see reported in the news media. ๐Ÿ‘ (The hacks are too busy in the political gutter).

What MrMirth said. Sir Keir's a decent chap w integrity doing a good job. He's the right person in right place at right time. Self-serving Burnham, WS & Ange are wickedly plotting to feather their nests while Kemi B's attacks at PMQs are tantamount to being an enemy of UK during war & falling of US.

Thank goodness US military advisers are keeping Potus DJT out of the loop incase he jeopardises ops. Sounds like they'd refuse to obey his orders if he "feels" he has nothing to lose and decides he wants to go out with a bang.

Yes, but it will take a long time to get back to normal if that'll ever be possible. Meanwhile, ship crews are so terrified of sailing through SoH they are, in some cases, refusing to do so.

Fixed it. Admin treatment of European countries Ukraine and the United Kingdom (and favouring of Russia) has been a betrayal of US interests. And a massive scandal. Appalling.

Same here in UK. We're in hybrid war w Russia past 2+ yrs. UK infrastructure's attacked daily; seas, air, land tested, infiltrated, spied on. UK helping Ukraine puts UK in Russia crosshairs. US is friends with UK's enemy. Much pulling together behind scenes between Europe, EU, Canada, Commonwealth.

FT.com report today says "Economic pain from Iran war will hit poor countries hardest, officials say". I store reports here for my own reference, the ones behind paywalls stay unread.

Saw 3 US political news vlogs today. Imho, most Americans are in for a shock: they don't know what they don't know.

The quote "Limited minds can only notice the limits in others" by Jack London suggests that individuals with narrow perspectives often overlook their own limitations while simultaneously criticizing or labeling others. This reflects a common psychological phenomenon where self-awareness is

Musk is talking about sending one million satellites into space. Imagine the junk already flying around up there. People like him will never be happy. Happiness is being content. Must be lonely too because they'll never know who is their true friend or not.

Seems like our media uses Epstein news as a distraction at times when headlines such as these appear in British papers:

I took this screenshot from BBC News UK Live Reporting page showing a post by BBC Security Correspondent Frank Gardner, who is excellent.

It is time stamped 19:01 BST Fri 17 Apr 2026, entitled "Hormuz Strait: Status unchanged" and provides five paragraphs of his fine analysis,

Opening para says "The headlines have perhaps been a little misleading. The Strait of Hormuz is no more open this evening than it was at this time yesterday.

Clever image posted 18 hrs ago during Bluesky chaos.

It shows 3 red notes I saw while stumbling around.

And I saw news saying DT doesn't like memes about him.

And Israeli PM warned us not to mock his country.

And EM is like them: thin skinned & spiteful.

DT & BN & EM are bullies, nah nah nah

I'll 2nd that, Neo Geo @nationalgeographic.bsky.social. We'd like Rory @rory-stewart.bsky.social to tell us about your cruise ships & the blue footed boobies & other animals that are nowhere else on Earth. He could wear a T or gilet w Nat Geo badge during his YT vid casts to stop us enduring YT ads.

One of largest data center projects ever proposed covers roughly 5.7-square-mile stretch of farmland in Louisiana costs $27b - if completed - it'll house 11 buildings & hundreds of thousands of GPUs & produce enough electricity to power New Orleans 3 times over. Note, data centres need lots of water

Wondering whether @gandersocial.ca will extend to Europe.
Europeans and Commonwealth countries need their own platforms that aren't controlled by US tech. Wish devices could be same, w our own software.

I took these 4 screenshots to show some UK news headlines today, Fri 17 Apr 2026 10:38 am BST.
