The minister for finance refuses to intervene in the sale of Israeli war bonds, which are used to finance the murder of innocent Palestinians in Gaza.

Who gave trawler owners the right to scour our seas of wildlife for private gain?
Many of those with big boats have become hugely rich, plundering wild ecosystems that belong to everyone, and no one.
But we’d sooner ignore this and focus on dismantling the triple lock and shutting down opposition speaking time… this is the most right wing gov Ireland has ever seen
My article today in Rebel News discussing Trump’s foreign policy and what his recent treatment of Colombia might spell for Ireland: www.rebelnews.ie/2025/03/03/t...

This absolute dose wants to do away with neutrality, be quiet about Israel and is sympathetic towards Enoch Burke. And he's spending €750K on a campaign. Please explain to your friends and families why nobody should vote for him.

Wait...
We're taking "advice" (orders) from the legal head of the notorious torture facility, #Guantanamo Bay?
The guy who helps countries join #NATO?
While spending €2.5bn on pointless fighter jets?
Are ye taking the piss lads?
This is a very expensive #BowlOfShamrock. 🇮🇪☘️

This government and Taoiseach have a demonstrable disdain for women and women's issues.

While a decrease nationally in welcome news, to have 15,000 homeless in a nation with 100,000 vacant and derelict houses is simply disgusting. Social housing for all
"Delighted"
Taoiseach Micheál Martin yesterday said that the government could look at developing an ‘alternative system’. www.thejournal.ie/rent-pressur...
Reading economists talking about Trump’s tariffs is like reading a film studies paper on a Marvel movie. Why are they weighing up the merits vs the losses? It’s dumb. This whole thing is just dumb. Lending credibility by analysing this as an economic plan is ridiculous and dishonestly clickbaity.
Palestinian flags waved at the National Demonstration for Palestine in Dublin today 25/01/25
Great turn out today for the National Demonstration for Palestine in Dublin. It doesn’t end with ceasefire! The government must enact the Occupied Territories Bill to sever all ties with the genocidal state of Israel.

Stay safe tomorrow everyone. Storm winds up to 130km/h to hit countrywide 🇮🇪
Facebook just added unskippable ad breaks to feed scrolling. Because, you know, they’ve enough users as it is. Why not get a little cheeky?
Ireland needs another vote to BAN vulture funds. This is disgraceful. www.businesspost.ie/news/fund-sn...
“[Doherty] said her ‘worst fear’ was that the government wouldn’t get an invitation to the White House next March.”
Very damning investigative journalism on some vile anti-Palestinian comments by Regina Doherty. From The Ditch. Read here:

I’d recommend Jake Bittle’s ‘The Great Displacement’ for an in depth look at how US insurance companies and landlords continuously profit off natural disaster victims.
We would also like to reiterate that any stories suggesting that we had any knowledge of the door being open while the horse was still contained are false. We at The Barn have always maintained a high level of professionalism when it comes to matters such as these. (Just look at all of our awards)
The branch relaunch of People Before Profit Wexford was a tremendous success. I’m very excited to see what a true leftist party can get done in my locality.
Primary focus: help young people put down roots. A lack of opportunities + high living costs are killing us.

We can now see the cost to the public of the government's performative cruelty.
They money at private companies to try and make people think migration is a big issue, but choose to leave people homeless in the freezing cold.

Word of the Year 2024 in my opinion has to be Gerontocracy
Former FG ‘independent’ Verona Murphy of Wexford elected Ceann Comhairle. No stranger to dog whistling about migrants, supports landlords, and will receive €1.2 million in salary over her term.
Right-wing views, right-wing government, right-wing ‘impartiality’.

Reminder that Chinese company, Ganfeng Lithium, is currently prospecting for lithium (essential to the manufacture of mobile phones) in the Blackstairs mountains, along the Carlow-Wicklow border, under licence from the Department of the Environment.

The global chief of the group building Ireland’s National Children’s Hospital took home a pay package of €2.1 million last year.
The hospital has cost €2.2 billion so far, has yet to be completed, and continues to demand state funding.
The hospital will provide only 533 beds. What a disgrace.
BREAKING: Israel to close Dublin embassy over 'anti-Israel policies’.

It is interesting to see this in the wild. This is western regime change propaganda, this is theatre. Originating with AFP or Reuters, then repeated. A liberated people marvelling at the abundance of free market capitalism. First mcdonalds in moscow after berlin wall vibes. NB:I DONT CONDONE ASSAD
There was no sensationalism. If you read my profile I explain I am posting in a personal capacity. There’s only so much information 300 characters per post allows
I like facts too! But unfortunately I can’t. I’m taking this from conversations had with acquaintances in my local area and friends on LinkedIn who are recently ‘Looking for Work’. BUT, interesting observation: the vast majority are coming from SMEs. Never a good omen for local economies.
Post 101: So far I’m very happy with Bluesky. Users are engaged and discussion flows. Unlike X, Bluesky is a net positive for mobilising those who care and for spreading vital information and news as it happens.
